Meeting the City Lord

City Lord Mansion, Glory City,

Ye Zong was in a dilemma, a dilemma that was so unique that there was probably no one in the long history of the Snow Wing family that had faced a similar situation.

After all, who can say without lying that they were sitting in front of a boy that was hardly 8 years of age, and yet gave off the aura of a Legend Rank expert?.

"Let me get this straight young man, you want to sell to me, artifacts and other items found from Ancient Orchid Ruins, and in return, you want the money as well as to be completely immune to the power of the major families as well as all the trouble you might cause if you lose your temper?" Ye Zong asked in a very restrained voice as he tried to suppress his anger.

When had he been humiliated to such an extent in his life?

"I can easily take care of the money but immunity to the major families is impossible for me to provide, if you want to deter them from taking action against you then you will have to have a major family of your own which would protect you," Ye Zong said, trying to intimidate him.

The Boy may be a Legend Rank like his father, but he highly doubted he was as smart as Ye Mo.

"Why bother with such things?, besides, I was not asking you to protect me, I was merely informing you that if any of those families go against me, then Glory City will have one less family in it, also, stop trying to intimidate me, the next time you do, I will directly kill you and be done with it," Broly said casually as Ye Zong suppressed a terrified shiver.

For just a single moment, Ye Zong had sensed the boy's power spike and surpass even that of a Legendary rank, something that not even his father might be able to accomplish. If such a powerful boy with his entire life in front of him were to be provoked by one of the families in the city, there is a high chance that another Demon Lord would be born on that day.

No matter what the cost, he must make this boy join his forces, if he were to gain the cooperation of the boy, then Glory City would rise to new heights.

"Although it is a difficult path, there is still a way for you to achieve what you want," Ye Zong said in a neutral voice as Broly raised an eyebrow, indicating him to go on.

"Without a background, there is a high chance that the families that you might offend in the future will attack you, even if you can easily crush them, there is a possibility that they might attack your loved ones instead as a form of revenge," Ye Zong said.

the smiling image of Ning'er was replaced by her corpse in Broly's mind which immediately caused him to almost lose control of his power.

Seeing the boy about to fly into a rage, the City Lord immediately spoke,

"However, if you were to join my manor as an honorary member, I will be able to fend off most of the families and will be able to guarantee the safety of anyone you ask for," he said as Broly's face had a scowl.

"You are a clever man City Lord, you are trying to get me to become one of your lapdogs so that I would fight for you? dream on!!"

"You misunderstand young man, being an honorary member means that you will not be tied down by any rules of the main family, you will be free to do as you please, aside from annual family meetings which must be attended by all members, no one will disturb your freedom and you will also be given a very high status in the city, once you reach 13 years of age, I will also make you an Honorary Elder which will make it so that you can have even more power in the city," he said in a single breath as Broly had a raised eyebrow before saying.

"And what do you expect from me in return for your 'Generous' offer?"

"I only ask that if ever Glory City faces any problems in the future, from both inside and outside, then I request you to lend a hand in defending it"

"...Very well, your offer is very enticing so I accept, but remember this City Lord, under no circumstances will you order me around, in fact, you will never give me any order and once I find a threat to the city, I will deal with it as I see fit and you will have no right to tell me what to do, is that clear?" Broly said as Ye Zhong nodded.

In the forests of Glory City,

I returned to the forest which had served as my home and food source for the last two years and headed towards a lone wooden cabin located in a large clearing.

This wooden house was something I had built when I had first left the hunting grounds in Holy Orchid Institute and arrived in this forest, it was a modest house with three rooms, one large kitchen, and a large hall.

Even though it might look like some poor sob's house, it was equipped with all the facilities that were present in the mansions of those main families in the city.

Turns out that there existed many inscriptions used for daily life such as lighting, cooling, air conditioning, water supply, and so on, and I had used all of these inscriptions in my own home.

The only problem was that only I could use these inscriptions.

I had learned a long time ago that it was possible for me to use inscriptions of this world using my KI, however, due to the fact that KI is much denser and more destructive that Soul Force, I would end up destroying the inscription before it is even activated, this resulted in me hunting down many many Legend ranked demon beasts in the Black Devils forest for their blood and fur which I used to create my own inscription tools.

And now, even a simple inscription used for lighting in my house is enough to cause those so-call major families in Glory City to go crazy with the ridiculously high quality of materials used.

Just as I was about to enter my house, a man dressed in the Snow Wind Family attire arrived near me and knelt on the ground while presenting me with a token.

"Lord Broly, the City Lord has sent me to deliver this token to you, this token represents a high status in the family only below that of an elder and the City Lord himself," he said, as soon as I took the token, he was already gone and was running at full speed, back to the mansion.

"...Well, this is quite useful" I muttered as I placed the token in the Cube and walked into the house, immediately, I knew that there was someone else in the house.

I smiled as I slowly headed upstairs towards the room where I sensed the other person, of course, there is only one person in the world aside from me whose energy signature has been keyed into the security inscription in my house.

"Ning'er, I am back and have gifts-" before I could complete my words, I was tackled by the girl who started to sob uncontrollably. I held her there for sometime before I suddenly remembered about the engagement that was forced onto her in cannon, judging the time and her age, this year should be the one where she was engaged.

"Broly, I Don't want to marry that thing from the sacred family!!!!" she shouted as she continued to cry.

That confirms it.

I barely managed to reign in my sanity and push back my Oozaru form taking over due to my rage.

Guess it is time for me to find out just how much damage I can cause to the sacred family without having them retaliate on Ning'er
