Training Body and Mind (3)

Atlas entered slowly and cautiously, even though he's excited by what he saw, he's cautious personality is still within him. After he reached the last step the surrounding suddenly lit up. There he saw a tunnel with a pure white wall, seeing the dust on the floor it seems like this tunnel hasn't been open for about 10 years now.

'Go!' the old man said to him, waking him up again from his fascination.

Atlas followed the old man's instruction and proceeded inside the tunnel, the tunnel may be left behind for at least 10 years but the technology inside hasn't, you can even say that this tunnel's technology is far more advance than most infrastructure inside. The lights keep following him, as soon as he reaches a segment of the tunnel the lights will turn on, when he's out of the segment the lights will turn off, this causes him to have no idea where he's heading to because he can only see things 5 m from him. Atlas tried to use the rubrics cube inside, but it doesn't work and the old man didn't say anything about it seems like he already knew beforehand that this would happen so Atlas didn't bother asking him. Now he knew why the rubrics cube didn't manage to scan this area when he scanned the whole campus.

After a 5 min walk, he finally saw the end of this tunnel. It was a 10-meter-tall door, made out of metal, the engravings in it are familiar to Atlas, it was the same symbols found in the rubrics cube!

'Push it' the old man said

'What?! It's a 10-meter-tall door and a metal at that, how can my puny strength push a humungous door like that!' Atlas said

'Just do as I say!' the old man said, he clearly doesn't have any plan to explain.

Atlas gave up and decided to just push that big door even though it looks impossible. As soon as he touched the door, he heard creaking sounds, he decided to push it with his full strength. He heard several turning of many wheels and gears. And after a slight push, it opened. Contrary to what he expected the door is so easy to push, you can push it like a normal door using the same force!

'How?!' Atlas was dumbfounded after seeing the 10-meter-tall door opened.

'This is the power of machinery, to do what a human body can't' the old man said.

Atlas entered the room, and what he saw caused his jaw to reach the floor. As soon as he enters, the once dark room slowly lit up. It's a circular room with several doors surrounding it, if you would compare it to a house the circular room is the living area and the doors are for the other part of the house.

'Enter the 3rd door!' The old man said

This time Atlas followed the Old Man's instruct excitedly, thinking about what's behind that door. Even though that door is still a 10-meter-tall door he doesn't worry anymore because he already knew that despite their large frame, they are easy to open.

*Creak*

The excitement Atlas was feeling earlier vanished after seeing what's inside.

'A gym?!' Atlas asked the old man after seeing the room full of gym equipment, this gym is just like any other gym that can be found commercially. It is full of dust but a little wiping will do.

'Yes, a gym!' the old man said

'What are we going to do in a gym?' Atlas asked because he has no clue what they'll do in a gym all of a sudden.

'What do you think people do in a gym?' the old man asked sarcastically

Only then the thought of him working out in this gym entered his head.

'Wait! Wait how did you know this place? Even the rubrics cube can't find it' Atlas asked

'Let me introduce myself once again, I'm Engr. Limuel Stanford the founder of Limuel University, the founder of Stanford Group of Companies, and many more titles. I created this place you are standing on; it is under the Limuel University which I founded that's why this forest was still alive and this place is still undiscovered. I created this place to be my greatest laboratory but after my demise, many enemies turned their eyes on me, so I didn't dare come to this place in fear of it being discovered.' The old man introduced himself

After hearing this introduction, Atlas' was dumbfounded to find out that the man whom he always called old gramps it the greatest engineer in the past 50 years. He read the biography of Limuel Stanford in the Library when he was still a child and is one of the reasons why he decided to become an engineer. However, in the biography, it was stated that Engr. Limuel passed away silently but it seems like there's still more truth to find out.

'As my successor, I finally grant you the ownership of this place!' the old man happily announced.

'So you mean to say, this whole place is mine now? I can do whatever I want?' Atlas who was still dumbfounded asked.

'Yes!' the old man replied

The moment Atlas heard this he ran out of the room and go back to the circular room, he wanted to try the other doors to see what he inherited. However, after trying to push the other door he found out that it won't budge, not even when he's using his full strength.

'The 3rd door is the only door you can use right now because of your body so if you want to see what the other door leads to, it's up to your strength, the greater strength you have the more doors you will open' the old man chuckled.

'Why?!' Atlas said in remorse.

'Us engineer uses machines and makes machines, but you should never forget that the greatest machine ever created isn't made by humans, it's created by God. We, the human being, is the greatest creation ever made, our body is made to do many things, the purpose of the machine is to assist our body and not the other way around! Engineers' greatest tool is their body! That's the reason why I'm asking you to work out. With your flimsy body, you can't work for a week without sleep and rest, but we engineers have only one opponent, "Time". No matter who it is time will slowly consume them.' The old man lectured Atlas as he was also one of the few who was consumed by the great monster called time.

'Now get your body bulk up!' the old man instructed

Atlas has no choice but to do what the old man said. He was eager to open the other doors, that's what motivates him to work out. If there's something in Atlas that he could be proud of, it's his eagerness to learn about something, he won't give up until he satisfied his curiosity.
