cook for everyone?

"Time is like a flower. Visualise the opening of a lotus, the way the outer petals fall away to reveal the inner ones. An inner petal would never know the older, outer ones, even though it was shaped by them, and only the viewer who plucked the flower would see how each petal was connected to the others." quoting this from 'The Palace Of Illusions' by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.

As the sunshine peeked inside the room passing through the cream coloured curtains the pair of eyes frowned when it felt the warmth of the sun on them. After two minutes the figure on bed woke up. Before keeping her legs on the ground, she touches the floor with her hands and then joining her hands (🙏🏻this way) she thanks mother earth for keeping her safe. After her morning prayer in bed, she puts her legs down on the floor and wears her pair of slippers. She turns on the wireless speaker and connects the speaker with her phone through bluetooth. She plays some instrumental music and goes to the washroom to freshen up. After almost 15 minutes she comes out dressed grey track pants, black sports bra, white running shoes. She turns off the speaker. Connects earphones with the mobile and leaves her room. She then grabs an apple and leaves the house. She prefers a staircase than a lift. As she reaches the ground she does some good stretching exercises and goes on for a 30 minute jog. After jogging, she practises Yoga for another half an hour. After this she returns home to her bedroom where she then practises Zumba. (author: fitness freak eh? I wish I could be like her but my bed loves me more...)

After such an intense morning routine she freshens up and wears a slightly pink hoodie with black jeans hair made up in a top-knot bun. She then goes to the kitchen, turns on the stove and prepares to make milk tea. As the tea gets done on the side she is preparing the batter for pancakes, cuts fruits for a fruit salad and then makes oats. She then goes to her parent's room and wakes them up, followed by going to Janet's room. As everyone wakes up and gets ready she makes pancakes for her sister, oats for her parents while she prefers fruit salad. She sets the breakfast table and turns on the news channel (the one which shows 100 different news in 5 minutes.) the rapid show of news. Turning back she sees her sister frowning, "not now…! Turn on the news later. You can hear it all day. Why is that the first thing in the morning you prefer depressing news over cheerful music?" Anne sighs "Jan, my morning began 3 hours before. So this is obviously not the 'first thing in the morning'." Mr. and Mrs. Brown laugh at their daughters' bickering that happens everyday for the same thing. The atmosphere in the house is lively. They all enjoy the breakfast, Jan can't stop complaining about the news channel and points out to every headline saying "it's so sad! Arghhhhh!! you made my morning sad". Anne shakes her head and then says "oh really? Then why not wake up with me and accompany me to workout? Your mornings will be cheerful and lively and energetic." pausing for a second she then adds "cook breakfast for all of us as well. Cooking is soothing. Widely opening her mouth Janet exclaims "oh no! Didaa you're the best… I love you and your cooking. The news is so informative. Who's criticising here?"dramatically looking below the table, left and right and also up as if searching for someone. "I think the person who was criticising is gone. Let's enjoy the yummy breakfast my sister made." Anne's lips turn into a faint smile as the liveliness of the house slowly makes it way back to the house.

After the accident, Janet was shocked and couldn't bring herself to joke around or bicker with Anne. Under Anne's love, care and parenting she is slowly starting to normalise and talk. Anne provokes her purposely so that she'd bicker and talk more. Anne's parents were advised not to move around and so Anne made sure that they never stepped out of the room for a single thing. She took over the charge of the house. Made everyone in the house dependent on her. Everyone thought that the sudden change happened because of the accident. Anne's overnight change surprised everyone in the house. The girl who slept till noon, listened to rock music, hated cooking and doing the chores, often fought with her parents, had turned out to be so sensitive. The girl who cracked jokes every other minute and laughs in the gravest situations, now has a very serious attitude towards everything. Only a faint smile or maybe a chuckle that she forced out was the emotion seen. Her eyes always seem cold and distant to others. (Anyone except her parents and her sister and ofcourse some close friends) She was hardworking and studious before but now there's fire in her eyes, studying literature was her passion but now she studies with fire in her eyes as if she wants to prove something, to achieve something. The fire in her eyes outshines her from others. After breakfast Anne goes to the kitchen and does the dishes. The time now is 8:15 a.m. She then goes to her room, takes her backpack and leaves the house. The bus stop is just opposite to her house and very smoothly she boards the bus scheduled at 8:27. She puts on a black mask on her face as she walks towards the bus stop and plugs her earphones to listen to some motivational songs. The first one which starts is 'the fight song' by Rachel Platten. She is energized for the day.
