Forbidden Thoughts

Shen Shu's bathroom was stocked with supplies, but she needed specific products, so she put on her outdoor shoes to head to the store.

"Where are you going?" Niko says by the entrance. Her head snaps to face him, and she notices he has swapped his suit for a black crewneck and grey sweatpants. His hair is wet from the shower he had, too.

Forbidden thoughts.

"I am going to the store down the street to pick up some stuff I need," she told him.

"You should wait until the morning," he responded.

"It can't wait," she prods. "My hair and skin require specific products that aren't the generic kind. The cleanser I have in my bathroom? Yeah, that one will dry out my skin tonight, and it's already dehydrated enough."

Niko contemplates her words.

"I can't mess with my routine."

Niko sighs in defeat. "I'm coming with you."

"What?" Shen Shu said. "I can go on my own."

But Niko ignored her as he struts toward the elevator. Shen Shu chased after him. "Niko, you don't have to come with me."

He stopped abruptly, and she crashed into his back. He turns to face her. "If I had it my way, you would go in the morning, but I will come with you now."

Shen Shu frowned in defeat. "Fine," I say, pushing past Niko.

She goes inside the elevator, and he steps in with her. Shen Shu ignored him for most of their walk, and he followed her inside the store.

Shen Shu took a basket in hand and went to the beauty aisle. She scanned the shelves looking for specific cleansers, moisturizers, serums, and hair masques. She could feel Niko watching her as she shopped, making her nervous. She tried not to show anything on her face as she picked out her favourite items.

When she finished, Shen Shu headed over to the food aisle and took all kinds of snacks and drinks she had never tried before. She continued to gaze through the shelves to see if she had missed anything when her eyes landed on different brands of condoms.

Shen Shu stares at them fixedly. Niko would not mind if she brought someone over, would he? Now that she was away from her parent's home, she realized that she could get lucky.

What was she thinking? She was a girl! She stared at the condoms for far too long that Niko would have noticed by now! She averted her gaze and pretended to be staring at the probiotics.

She then gets what she needs and heads to the counter to check out her items. Once she pays, she sees Niko purchase a pack of condoms. Shen Shu nearly gaped at him when she noticed the size: Extra Large. What the fuck?

She tried not to make her shock noticeable as she thought about the girls he might bring over to the apartment. Something like jealousy flitters through her, but she buried the feeling deep down and pretended not to care.

Shen Shu smiled at the cashier, who looked at them both before she and Niko walked back to the apartment.

Once they returned, Shen Shu went straight to her room and shut the door behind her, and she slumped on my bed. It has not been a mere 24-hours in this apartment, and Shen Shu already felt her mind had been compromised.

Extra-large? She never knew cocks could be that big! Would that even fit inside a—"

Shen Shu rose out of bed early and headed into the bathroom the next morning. She then searched through her closet, finding something to wear for her first day at the new department. She showered and followed with her skincare before she styled her hair pin-straight.

She skimmed through my clothes to find something modest and stylish but nothing prudish. The thing about Shen Shu was that she liked to stand out. Whenever she looked in the mirror, she would take in her features. She knew she was beautiful, and she did not hide it, but it is not her appearance that makes her attractive it's her confidence.

Shen Shu paired a cream-coloured turtleneck with a coffee-brown skirt. She applied light makeup and put on white heels. She went down the stairs, but she noticed Niko had already gone.

Shen Shu gathered her things before she headed to her father's company. She stopped by a bagel shop on the way to pick up a light breakfast. She ate in the restaurant by herself before finally going to the building within walking distance of the penthouse.

Inside, she looked for the receptionist to get her keycard.

"Name?" she asks when Shen Shu approaches the broad front.

"Shen Shu," she responds. The receptionist looks at her, and her eyes widen as she soaks in Shen Shu's black hair and yellow-green eyes, the same as her father.

The receptionist hands her the keycard. "Here you go, Miss Shen. If you need anything, please phone me. I hope you have a pleasant day."

"Thank you," she responded.

Shen Shu uses the keycard to access the elevator find her office. Once she stepped out of the tenth floor, she saw people staring at her presence. Some male office workers did a double-take as Shen Shu approached a girl she spotted. The woman wore pink headphones over her shoulders and looked as if she was in the middle of playing games on her phone.

"Hi," Shen Shu said to her.

The woman does not look at her. "What do you want? I'm busy."

"Sorry. I'm new here, and I want directions to my office." Shen Shu tells her the number.

Shen Shu watched the woman before her stiffened. She turned to her and looked at her wide. "You're Shen Shu!" she says, looking her up and down. "Wow, you're a stunner, Miss Shen! I mean it. I will show you to your office."

Shen Shu smiled at her. "Thank you."

The woman stands from her seat and leads her to her office. "I met your brother earlier too. I suppose good looks run in your family since all the ladies are swooning over him."

"Oh really?" Shen Shu responded, trying not to sound irritated.

"Yeah, but not me! Mr. Shen is not my type. He seems like the type of pretty boy with some baggage. Some daddy issues too, maybe."

Shen Shu faced the woman's back to her, stunned, before she turned around and said, "Sorry. I shouldn't have said that to you about your brother."

Shen Shu chuckled. "No, it's all right, and if you ever want to vent to me about Shen Chi, my office is open."

The woman smiled at her. "I like you, Shen Shu! I'm so glad you're my new boss!"

They walk until they reach a door. "Here it is," she says. "And my name is Ye Huan. It's nice to meet you! See you later!"

Ye Huan ran off, and Shen Shu was left alone once more.

She took a deep breath as she swiped her keycard and walked into a new chapter in her life.
