Meeting The Familiars

After I sealed off the Blue Flame and hid it inside Janus' body, I waited for him to regain consciousness.

"Mommy, why hasn't Janus woken up yet?"

"It will take time, honey. The Blue Flame consumes too much of his energy. His body has to recover, but he hasn't learned how to heal fast yet."

"Um… can I learn how to do that as well?"

"Oh, that's right! Your power is healing. In time, you will learn to control your energy and forge its magic to renew one's loss."

"Oh, you can do that too, mommy?"

"Yes, honey. I can heal any wounds and restore lost energy. But in your brother's case, my power awakened the Blue Flame inside Janus' body."

"Oh, okay."

My heart wrenched from the secrets I was hiding from my daughter. I cannot tell her the truth. The Blue Flame is part of her father's familiar, Blaise, and I cannot explain it to her further. I avoid talking about their father... I know that one day, they will ask me about him.

"Sigh. Your boyfriend is such a pain, Luna."

"Who are you talking about, Lionel?"

I heard them teasing each other again.

"Priestess, do you want me to shut them up?"

Sora asked me who she had now transformed into a human body. I shook my head and just smiled. It means I don't mind at all.

"Heh. Please don't deny it. You miss your boyfriend. Too bad, Blaise is…."

"Boyfriend, eh?" Luna raises her right hand. Light gathers on her palm, and the rapidly intensifying energy transforms into a crescent moon blade. "That dragon is not… my boyfriend!" She yells, at the same time releasing the blade in her hand.

She aimed it at Lionel, who was now flying and trying to dodge the blade.

Lionel's wings are not as fluffy as they look, and they are made from real blades. He stretches them as he prepares for battle. Using his wings, he fights Luna's weapons, and she releases another crescent moon blade, but Lionel dodges it easily.

"Don't you dare mention it again! If I see that blue dragon again, I will kick his ass! I will give him a good beating!"

"Heh."

"Lionel! Come here!"

I beamed when Lionel effortlessly avoided Luna's two Crescent Moon Blades. Now, taking control of the blades with both hands, she starts dancing to use its full strength.

"Whoa! Aaahhhh!"

Lionel sinks into the lake as Luna glides and dances above the water. Her body is swaying to guide her weapons in the attack on Lionel under the water.

It's been a while since they fought actual enemies. I could feel the need for their desired training in these years, as training alone is boring.

"Awesome!"

I glanced at my daughter, and it amazed her watching the battle. Her eyes cannot avert, peering at Luna, who dances gracefully.

Momentarily, Luna poses as she retrieves her weapons, now floating at her sides. Just then, ten swords emerge from the lake, flying toward Luna, and she puts up a shield that the blades cannot penetrate.

Lionel transports and then lands above the lake. The swords he releases now are again attached to his wings.

"Not bad. No wonder dragon cannot touch you, and I pitied him."

I giggled, watching Lionel's head shaking as if he sided with Blaise and pitied that guy. Luna was still upset.

"Don't you dare to take a side with that a*hole!"

"Shut your mouth! There are kids here! Ah, master!"

Our eyes landed on Janus, who was now awake and had witnessed the last part of the battle.

"How are you feeling, honey?"

I asked my son, who blinked many times. Lionel and Luna were still there, walking above the lake. He looked at me, puzzled. Then I understood what he was thinking right now. He is shocked by what he is seeing.

"Janus! I was worried sick when your body started on fire! But mommy is awesome!"

"What happened? Mommy, what's going on!"

I chuckled, staring at Janus' huge eyes looking at me. I know he needs an explanation. But the same with Aisha; his eyes spark with excitement that what he witnessed was real.

"Janus and Aisha. I have been hiding this, but we are not from this world, and we are just temporarily living here."

"What do you mean by that, mommy?"

"The mortals in this world are just ordinary beings and have no power, magic, or a familiar like us. The world I came from is called the Celestial Universe, and almost everyone has powerful magic and a powerful warrior along with their Spirit Animals we call Familiars." I explained further.

"Then, this means?"

Janus gave me this look. He understood what I was telling them. He looked at Lionel and shifted to Luna and Sora. I could tell from reading my son's expression that he had already figured it out. I nodded at him and planted a kiss on his forehead, then Aisha's

"Sora is Aisha's familiar, and Luna was mine, so yours is Lionel."

Janus sits up and runs toward Lionel, and hugs him. At first, Lionel froze, but then he hugged my son while sobbing.

"Master, I'm so happy to meet you properly."

"Oh, didn't we meet when I was born?" Janus corrected.

"Ah, you are right, master. Haha."

"You even watched me and pushed my rocking crib, right?"

"Waah! You could remember that?"

"Honestly, I thought it was kind of a dream. Now I know it's not!"

"Oh, master…"

"Tsk! What a crybaby for a giant body." Luna commented.

I giggled along with Aisha and Sora when Lionel couldn't stop crying. Indeed, it didn't fit him with that giant body of his. It amazes me how keen Janus's memories are. All this time, he was a silent kid who never gave me a headache. I didn't know he just kept everything to himself when there were things that confused him or things that got his interest.

"All right, let's go inside. We have to make lunch, and after that, we will work out with the Fusion Ritual."

"What is a fusion ritual, mommy?"

"It is the very first step in your training. You need to be familiar with each other. Even though your familiar is already living inside your body, you have to be as one with them... that's why it's called familiar. Strength, power, one mind, one heart, and most of all, you to be able to use your familiar's strength. Side by side, you will fight together."

"We understand, mommy!"

Aisha and Janus said at once. I'm so glad they quickly accept who we are, but it's still a long way for us. One day I know they will ask me who their father is.
