The Holy Grail Part 2 The Holy Knights

When Himura and I were flying towards Venice, I was reading Huruhime's book, trying to understand what she was looking for in the library. To no success, I have not the faintest idea of what she was doing. Himura was next to me studying the files for Haruhimes disappearance, then a flash of insight came to his eyes.

Himura: "Joseph, I need to ask you something." He said with a serious look on his face." I don't know what they have been telling you, but in this file report, it's writing here that there were signs of a struggle." Himura said with a curious gaze towards the story. As if realization struck me, I add upon Himura's idea.

Joseph: "What your saying is, Haruhime walked out by herself together with the people who attacked the library?" I said with a confused look in my face. "Why did she leave with them what to gain from it." now doubting all the information. The trinity said they were attacked, but the SCP reports said there were no signs of struggle.

Himura: "whatever the case may be, both parties said two different stories. We may need to stay vigilant." He said towards me with a warning look on his eyes.

Joseph: "The Trinity seems suspicious in this one." I said with a doubting look on my face.

After a few hours on the plane, we were no in front of Campo San Barnaba. There we saw Sgt. Brannan is waving at us to get our attention.

Brannan: "good, you're finally here," he said with a smile on his face. "This place here was once a church then changed to a library; the trinity thinks that there are some clues here that could lead them towards the location of the holy grail."Brannan noticed that I was not paying attention to him, then he realized something and talked to me.

Brannan: "look, Joseph, I didn't mean to drag you here back in the field I would have gladly chosen another SCP personnel to do this job, but I wouldn't be right not to let you know what happened to Haruhime." he said with a sorry look on his face. "Look after this Job; I would make it up for you."

When we entered the Campo San Barnaba, we were greeted with books but not so much for people reading here. I looked at Brannan with a questioning look in my face. When Brannan saw my questioning look, he answered my question.

Brannan: "the SCP have secured this place so no one will bother the Trinity members from finding the clues for the holy grail." He said while laughing. "Hahaha... If there is a Holy Grail."

Then we saw people who were protesting outside the library. Sgt. Brannan went towards them to appease the masses while Himura and I took a look around the library. When we got near a stained glass with a Roman numeral, I just looked at that stained glass, like I have seen that image somewhere. Then as if thunderstruck my head, I fetched Haruhime's researched book out of my coat. Himura saw this and came near me to ask a question.

Himura: "you found something with this stained glass window." he said towards me, who was flipping through the book.

Joseph: "Yeah, I have seen this same window in Haruhime's research book." I said while showing Himura the research book. "Whatever Haruhime is doing, she was onto something."

Himura: "Yeah, we know that these stained windows have to do something on whatever clues they after, but we don't have the faintest hint on what to do." he said while scratching his head in confusion.

Joseph: "until we know the full story, we should keep this book a secret between us." I said toward Himura, who nodded at my reasoning.

I kept reading the book to see what I needed to know. I looked up, looked around the area near the stained glass for hints. Then I saw that same roman number on the stained glass. I looked around, and I found another one, but the last one was nowhere to be seen. I was a bit confused, so I walked around, but when my foot hit an odd-sounding floor, I taped it again then did it to another tile. Both titles are sounding different, knowing this, I called Sgt. Brannan for help.

Joseph: "Sgt. Brannan, I need your assistance here." I said out loud toward Brannan, who was talking to the pedestrians that are protesting. When Brannan heard my call, he ended his conversation with the protesters and came to me immediately.

Brannan: "What do you need, Joseph? Found any hints toward the holy grail," he said with a hopeful look on his face.

Joseph: "No, but can you find a sledgehammer that I could use," I said while taping the floors.

Brannan: "Sure, I could ask someone to bring you one hold on for a minute. I'll go somewhere to get the sledgehammer." he said while going to nearby SCP personnel. Then afterward came back with a Sledgehammer. "Here you go, why do you need this."

Not answering his questions, I hit the floor that sounded off. And to no surprise, there was a hidden entrance to somewhere; then realization struck me that Haruhime was not looking for a clue for the holy grail, no, she was looking for one of the Holy Knights that protected the holy grail.

Brannan: "oh my god, we didn't think there was a secret passage under the library." he said with excitement in his voice.

Not hearing his words, I jumped in the first and landed on ancient bones.

Joseph: "Just as I thought, she was not looking for the holy grail but the protector instead, why?" I said quietly to myself, Himura jumped right after me. I look up and see Brannan not jumping down.

Brannan: "I'll stay behind here; I don't like tomb raiding as much as you two." he said while cringing at the bones I'm stepping on.

Not minding his word, I just nodded at him. And went down the tomb with Himura behind me, I brought out a flashlight to light up the way. We saw lots of ancient bones lying around the area.

Himura: "my god, how long do you think these people were here for it looked like they are protecting something here by how much swords and armor are on some of the skeletons."

Joseph: "I'm pretty sure they are protecting someone here, and for how long they stayed here looks to me like a long time ago." I said jokingly at the last part.

When we reached the end of the tomb, we found a coffin at the center of the room. I went up toward it and expected the heavily decorated coffin.

Joseph: "this must be one of the first protectors of The Holy Grail." I said out loud, which surprised Himura, who heads this for the first time.

Himura: "wait, Haruhime was not looking for the Holy Grail; why?" he said with confusion in his face. I stayed silent because I don't know why Haruhime decided to find the Holy knights that protect the holy grail.

I pushed the lid of the coffin out of the way to reveal not bones but preserved dead men. His armor looked like it has not aged in Years; instead of old soggy skin for being old, it only shows a healthy well-defined body. He has a shield on him with words I don't know how to read, so I asked Ava to translate it for me in my head.

Himura: "how is this possible? his body looked like it never aged but looking at his old coffin say so otherwise." he said, surprised at what he just saw. "The ones that protected this place must want to protect this body," Himura said while looking at all the skeletons surrounding this coffin.

After some time, Ava gave me the translation of the shield, which I then said out loud to Himura.

Joseph: "those who drank The Holy Grail are granted immortality and healing properties, but if you are fatally wounded, you will also die. When the dead drink The Holy Grail, they will be Revived but at a cause. If you wish to find the holy grail, you just need to travel to the castle that was carved out from a cliff." I said with surprise on my face. "This man has drunk from the Holy Grail now; his body won't decompose."

Himura was even more surprised at what he just heard.

Himura: "my god, the Holy grail, did exist." he said with excitement but frowned the next. "Still though I would rather be mortal than live forever, I mean you would go crazy when you live forever."

Not mind Himura's words, I took a piece of paper and copied all the text on the shield onto my article. Then stuck it in the research book of Haruhime.

Joseph: "we should leave this place right away." I said toward Himura.

When we climbed up from the entrance, we were greeted by armed men pointing their guns toward us and Brannan, who was knocked out unconscious. But then when they saw me, they lowered their weapons.

???: "Sorry about your friend of your Mr. Maiava we thought he was one of the people who wanted to find The Holy Grail," he said while pointing at Brannan. "Anyway, we are The Holy Knights that protect The Holy Grail; you need to come with us, Mr. Maiava; there is someone you would like to meet."

A/N: I hope you like my version of The Holy Grail. The one in Indiana Jones movie did not show any signs of you being immortal except that you would live longer and heal wounds.
