Mental Breakdown

Haruhime is holding my hands while we walk through the fair. Haruhime was happy as we went through different stalls. Suddenly everything is falling apart and disappearing into the void as Haruhime looks at me with a worried look on her eye.

Haruhime: "Joseph, make sure to always think about our good time with each other and other people around you. I don't want you to hate the world for making you the way you are, and please promise me that you will be happier." I looked at her with confusion, but I ultimately nodded.

I suddenly wake up in an empty dark moving room with a TV in front of me; I look around more as I see a camera watching me. Suddenly I heard the door slides open, and a blonde man with all black clothing came in. He didn't have any facial expression in any way; he disregarded me and went toward the TV to hook something up from the back before turning it on.

I waited for the TV to boot up while the blonde man went out of the room. I looked at the TV, and my body started shaking in fear as I saw who was inside the TV. I saw Dr. Shou Tucker, the man that was presumed to be dead. I wasn't surprised that he was still alive, but Dr. Shou's physical appearance has significantly changed.

Dr. Shou: "I do must say it is good to see you, Mr. Miaava; what wasn't surprises that I lived." he said while laughing at me, "still haven't fixed your fear against me huh.." while he is talking the man that left earlier came back with tools for torturing. I frowned at what I saw while Dr. Shou was happy to introduce the man in front of me.

Dr. Shou: "let me formally introduce you to Rion Steiner; he will be torturing you on my behalf." he laughed at me while looking at Rion. "Make it as slow and painful as possible, alright, I wanted to see him mentally break," he said, laughing crazily at me.

I tried to move my arm but found out my left is missing. The other arm is trapped to the chairside rest. I look at my wounds, and all of them are patch up, but very soon, I will have new scars on my body. Rion brought out a car battery, and some jumper cable tested them out right in front of me. I shakily ask them why they are doing this to me.

Joseph: "What do you want from me." I said with anger and fear on my face.Dr. Shou looked at me with a crazed smile on his face as if he heard the biggest joke.

Dr. Shou: "You seriously forgot you took away my glory in site-14," he said while yelling at me. "I was a successful doctor using the Marker as a guide, I could advance humanity to a new age, but you foiled everything," he said while trying to not stand up from his wheelchair. After coming down, he looks at me with a smile again.

Dr. Shou: "But all is not lost. You are my first successful test for human evolution, you heal quicker, you are more durable than normal, all of this is thanks to me," he said while looking at me like I am a piece of treasure. "Your body hides something that makes you different from the rest because you are human; you have to give part of yourself toward humanity's survival. By becoming its new savior using your body."

Dr. Shou: "it honestly a good deal, you will be worshipped by humanity while you give up your life for them." he turned serious and looked at his henchmen, "you can start doing your experiments, i'll sit here and watch."

The man came toward me with the same pliers he tested stuck them on my chest. I screamed in pain as I was electrocuted.

Joseph: "AAAHHH…" I screamed in pain as electricity traveled through my chest. After a few seconds, the Rion let me go. I shake in fear as I look at them in anger. Dr. Shou didn't seem to care about my anger.

Dr. Shou: "fascinating you didn't seem to be affected by that" he looks at Rion and talks to him. "You can now start cutting him and do everything to see how far his body can go."

After that, everything was a blur as my mind was in a brink of breaking from extreme pain I have suffered. I just wanted everything around me to die as I looked at them with a crazed smile on my face. They keep trying to probe everything around my body, giving me new scars I go crazy every scare they add to me. At that point, I forgot who I am; everything became cloudy as they kept on adding more wounds on my body. I don't know when, but I slowly drifted to sleep as the pain was affecting me.

Haruhime: "Please, Joseph, wake up, stop hurting yourself… '' she cried in front of me. She looks at me with a sad look on her eyes. "Didn't you promise me to live your life as happy with your new family? I didn't want you to hurt yourself by pushing people away. Stop before it is too late to turn back," she said while fading into the darkness.

I wanted to call her out not to leave me behind, but when I did, no sound came out of my voice. I looked around and saw that I was floating in an empty void. But in that black void, I saw myself, but there was a slight difference in his eyes. The man in front of me looks like he lost everything; he became Monster, who was just out to slaughter everything in his path. The man gave me a creepy smile and started talking to me.

Man: "So Joseph, how much longer before you let me out," he said while circling me, inspecting me. "Life sucks, huh, first was you being turned into a lab rat in site-14, the second was losing Haruhime right in front of you, third was letting go of your new happiness Lara, now here you are being tortured for the future of humanity. Your anger must be bottled up just wanting to explode." he laughed at me with tearful joy on his face.

Man: "So how long do you think you can keep that anger inside of you…" but before he could talk even further, I heard a familiar voice that I haven't heard in a long time.

Haruhime: "Joseph, don't listen to your other self." she said, echoing in the void. "Believe that you will get your happiness; you already did it once you will do it again," she said before her voice faded there was a light above me lifting me out of the darkness.

I suddenly wake up, but everything around me seems different. I looked around and found out that I am inside a cage. I looked at myself and saw that I didn't have a shirt, suddenly my focus was drawn toward someone who was sitting in front of me.

Chloe: "Yo, big man, you look like you went through shit," She said while looking at me with a sad face. With so much anger, I went toward her full force to grab her. I don't know what has been coming out of me, but everything seems to look red. But before I could think any further, Chloe punched me on the face.

My clouded mind became apparent as she punched me. I look at Chloe, who has a worried look on her face.

Chloe: "You need to snap out of it, or I would hit you back again." when I heard her, I just looked at her in a daze. "So do you want to talk about your experience? You seem to look like you need to talk about your problems to someone with all the shit you have been too." I was going to stay quiet when I remembered my promise to Haruhime to stop pushing people away that are offering to help.

Joseph: "So where do I start.." I said with a smile on my face while feeling the need to dump my negative emotions onto someone. "I guess I should start my story when I first join the military." if Haruhime said I could find happiness again, then I will hold onto it as tightly as I can.
