The Unraveling

In my sleep, my mind yet again wanders to Christopher. His sharp jawline and smooth complexion. His long eyelashes and sharp jawline. His pink lips and sea-green eyes. His jet black curly medium length hair. The gleam in his eyes when he smiles. Although I'm going to heartbreak, it troubles me that every time I think about Christopher, my thoughts about Bryce ceases. It feels like my mind is betraying my heart.

I wake up to Dorcas's embrace and unlock my phone. It's 8:00pm, I left home at 9:00am so I've been gone for eleven hours. At this point, I'm just racking up more consequences.

After shaking Dorcas awake, he gives me a look of pure hate. He despises when I disturb his sleep, but I'm hungry, and I left my car at my place.

"What do you wanttttt?" Dorcas drags out

"Dorcas I'm hungryyy" I reply

"Okay fine. Chick-fil-a or McDonalds?" He retorts

I take a moment to think. I am literally so indecisive when it comes to food. McDonald's has the best fries, but Chick-Fil-a has the best chicken nuggets. We could save more gas if we go to Chick-Fil-a but-

"Okay, since you can't decide, I will. I want to go to Mcdonalds, so that's where we're going. Indecisive bitch." Dorcas says

"Well okay then rude whore" I counter

After climbing out of bed and gathering our things, we head downstairs and out to Audi I8. Waiting for those butterfly doors to come up takes an excessive amount of time. I let out an exaggerated sigh when the doors finally came up, and Dorcas gave me a glare.

Climbing in, I connect my Bluetooth to the car and play VIBEZ by DaBaby, Me and Dorcas start Jamming out all the way to McDonald's. Little moments like this with Dorcas are what also keep friendships going. That and genuine care for one another.

Once we go in and make way for the counter. I notice Christopher ordering. Perfect, cute, kind Christopher. Dorcas, seeing my long gaze at him, asks me the question.

"Is that..?" Dorcas questions

"Christopher… yep" I answer

"Damnn sis, he's hot! Bryce, who?" Dorcas replies

"That's NOT why I'm friends with him. He's just so nice" I retort

Noticing my presence, Christopher waves us over. As we walk to him, Dorcas stops in his tracks. Turning to him, I gave him a questioning glance. He points to the booth in the back. Following his finger, I see what he's talking about. My alleged boyfriend hanging out with my so-called friends. Fake. How they left me to go drink. How they saw me run out of the party and didn't even go after me. How they didn't also try to get my location. My cheating boyfriend, Bryce.

Turning back around with tears welling up in my eyes, I look at Christopher. He stares a curious gaze at me, and I instinctively go to hug him. He wrapped his arms around me and walked me over to a booth and sat me down. I'm still in his embrace, shedding my tears when Dorcas snaps out of his fiery gaze and walks over to the booth. He slid across the seat from us and gave me a sympathetic look.

"Are you going to be okay?" Dorcas questions

Through my tears and puffs, I find the energy to give Dorcas a nod. Christopher, still holding me, asks me questions.

"What's going on, Allison?" He whispers into my hair

Finding more energy to tell him the truth, I give a look towards Dorcas.

"It's about what I was telling you this morning. Those g..girls. Those are my friends who left me to drink. Then there's the part I didn't tell you. That's my boyfriend, I caught him cheating on me on the patio last night." I say through tears

I look up at Christopher with wet red eyes. I'm so embarrassed. That I just dragged him into this. That I've been such trouble to him. That I just ran into his arms, although I only met him this morning. That I'm so comfortable in his embrace that it feels like home. I'm embarrassed that I'm feeling this way towards him after just seeing my boyfriend cheated on me less than 24 hours ago. As if he could read my thoughts, he gives me a kiss on the forehead and turns around to give the girls and Bryce a deathly glance. Them not noticing Christopher gets up and walks to the exit on the other side of McDonald's. When I look across the table, I see Dorcas getting up and walking to follow them out. Then Christopher gives me a squeeze and gets up to catch up with Dorcas.

I am stunned with the current situation, just sitting there and re-evaluates my life. Then shock rushes through me as I heard yelling coming from outside of Waffle House. I get up from my seat and run outside towards the commotion.

There, I see Dorcas pushing Bryce and Bryce, yelling back. Catching up to the group and standing behind Christopher, I understand the extent of the situation. Dorcas is confronting Bryce and our friends.

"What the HELL dude?!" Dorcas yells

"What are you talking about, PSYCHO?" Bryce yells

After that, Bryce gives a look in Christopher's direction and sees my small frame quivering behind him.

"What the FUCK ALLISON? Who is that guy?" Bryce yells as he walks toward us

Wiping my eyes with my sweater paws, I step out of Christopher's shadow. Bryce is still trekking towards us with a furious glance. Christopher holds out a hand to stop Bryce from approaching us.

"Back the fuck off dude," Christopher remarks

"Allison, are you serious right now? I leave you alone for one night, and you start whoring off with this guy?" Bryce concludes

At this point, Bryce kept moving and was soon right in front of us. Him standing in front of Christopher, I really see the height difference. Bryce is only 5'10, whereas Christopher is about 6'3. Christopher looks down on Bryce and shares a menacing glare.

"You might wanna watch your mouth bitch" Christopher snarls

After Bryce pushes Christopher, he gets serious. Christopher punches Bryce in his face. HARD. All I could think about was breaking up the fight when I heard someone yell from my right. Instantly I recognized the voices. The twins. Oh shit
