A Gift

Hayner often saw Corrie and would talk to her.

They became acquainted, of some sorts, to each other.

It has been a week since Crown Prince left.

He had started his journey with a proud smile on his face. All his companions thought the same thing- they had never seen him this happy.

At the Palace---

He went directly to Corrie who was tending to the flowers in the backyard of the Crown Prince's chambers. He went there,"Corrie ....here".

Corrie turned and saw a handsome Prince holding out a white rose to her in the midst of beautiful flowers.

She was stunned to see the flower.

"A white rose?", she asked,"Where did you get it?"

"I have my ways", he answered being satisfied with himself.

Corrie gave a longing and cheerful smile at the sight of the white rose. Axel was stunned by her smile again. He gulped ...poor him.

Corrie took the flower and carressed it as if she was afraid that the petals would fall off.

She was a bit sad that the rose had no roots so that she could plant it.

Hm...let it be.

She was just so happy to see a white rose....a reminder of Nina and Vince.

Axel had been staring at her for some time now and never shifted his gaze.

"U like it?", he asked.

"What are you talking about? Its my favourite..how can i not like it", she answered with a wide smile.

He had never seen her so happy. Her eyes were full of joy and nostalgia. You could read her in just one glance.

Queen's chamber---

"I heard my son has returned ...Where is he?",she asked worriedly.

One of the officers replied," He has gone to his chamber for an important thing. Your Majesty.

He should be here in a while ".

Axel entered moments after the officer said that.

"Where were you?

I was worried", the Queen said.

"I am here now, mother."

After that, a long duscussion followed regarding everything he had witnessed in the borders.

Everyone understood that a great trouble would befall upon them sooner or later. They had to be prepared.

After the discussions, Axel hurried out.

Hayner caught up to him,"Wait for me. Tell me how your experience in the borders without me this time." He asked with a mocking expression.

Axel replied honestly,"It was horrible."

"Oh my God....was it that bad. Okay next time i shall always accompany you. You shouldn't order me to stay back next time"

As he rattled on ...Axel suddenly said,"Im in love".

Hayner stopped dead in his tracks while processing the words that just came out from his stone-cold, INFJ friend.
