Chapter 4: Becoming a Hat?!

What was happening?

The world blurred and shifted, the howling wind ceasing. Was I stabbed? Was I going to die again? When I finally opened my eyes, I felt soothing warmness brushing against my face. I was in a golden adorned carriage and the soft, repetitive 'clip clopping' of the horses' hooves could lull me to sleep. My eyelids fluttered shut as I rested on the bed of curled, raven feathers.

Wait.

Raven feathers?!

I stared down at myself, and realized…

MY BODY WAS GONE!

All I saw was grey fabric. Was… I a hat? I racked my dull rain for any idea what was going on and I remembered, Grayson had a curse bestowed on him! Hmm, what was the last thing I touched?

Edward's hat…

If I was still in human form, my face would have paled as white as a sheet. What would happen when it was morning again? Would I wake up inside Edward's manor and branded as a stalker and perv? I attempted to fling myself towards the open window with futile results.

Goodbye cruel world!

I internally mourned for myself and imagined what would happen in the morning.

~~~~~~~~~~
Soft whimpers reached my ears and my eyes widened in shock. Huh? I must have fallen asleep in the carriage. But first! I had to investigate who was crying! If it was my poor Edward, I would murder anyone in my path- even as a hat! I stood, placed on a bookshelf. As I glanced around the room, I caught sight of wavy, black hair floating around the curtain. Eureka!
Elianna had leaned against the window sill, the transparent curtain covering her face.
"Uwu… the whole time while I was with Prince Aiden… He complained about how small my boobs were!" Elianna protested indignantly. "He had two beast slaves groping him at each side, while he humiliated for being so ugly!"
"Don't worry Sis!" Edward piped in from behind her, "We'll get revenge on him when we grow up and when you're even more beautiful! I know! Why don't I ask Sir Grayson to be your fiancée? He won't mind since he's such a nice guy!"
Edward had far too high expectations of me…
"That won't be fair to Sir Grayson, what if he falls in love with someone else? We'll just have to wait until I'm beautiful and starting at the Academy in six years' time, when I'm 16!" Elianna muttered stubbornly. "I'm going to sleep, Edward, goodnight!"
"Goodnight…" Edward sighed ominously, glancing over at Elianna, who had blankets bunched over her head.
I exhaled, feeling sympathy for Elianna. I jammed my eyes shut, hoping for at least some sleep to keep my mind at rest.
~~~~~~~~~~

I heard some rustling and something solid colliding towards the floor.

Uwaaa… Who would be making such a racket so late at night?! Huh? Elianna?!

Elianna was perched on a stool, sitting in front of a mirror. She had many face cosmetics placed in front of her and she was applying creams and colours on her porcelain skin. She seemed rather clumsy, her face grimacing as she accidently smeared red on her nose.

I decided.

It was that Prince Aiden's fault! The confident Elianna had shrivelled up with insecurities. I hadn't thought it was so bad, but obviously the Prince had insulted her on a daily basis! If I wasn't Edward's stupid hat, I would've marched over to Aiden and whacked him in the head to get his brain right! He was insulting a exquisite young lady when he was nothing special except for his status and face.

Elianna's rouge case popped open with a snap.

"Elianna…" I thought despairingly, staring at her determined face.

At least she wasn't giving up! But now... I was wondering, who was the real villain Elianna or Prince Aiden?
