Chapter 5: Meeting the Heroine?!

The birds twittered and warmth embraced me wholly. My eyes flew open and frantically searched around the room. Phew… I was back in my room? I thought about last night and felt deep sympathy for Elianna. Wasn't Elianna the villainess? Why was Prince Aiden portrayed as the villain? My mind swirled and I opted to go outside to clear my mind.

When my carriage halted to a stop, I stepped out and strolled outside, occasionally looking at meticulous trinkets. Just as I turned around, a small figure collided into me.

"Oomph!" A young girl's voice exclaimed.

"I'm sorry!" I apologised, waving my hands around in the air anxiously.

She giggled, her high carefree cutting the air. I looked up, and saw an adolescent maiden, her long, glossy silver hair tumbling in waves down her back, and her skin as pale as her hair. Her vivid, bright blue eyes twinkling with laughter.

"Be careful next time!" She beamed, her lengthy, curled eyelashes fluttering.

Wait. This was the heroine! Miku was the only child of a Baron and were fairly poor. She only got into the Academy due to her scholarship and was bullied a few times due to her wealth.

"Hi there, brother!" a jubilant voice trilled.

Edward and Elianna walked towards us, arm in arm.

"Who's the young lady next to you?" Elianna queried, her face thankfully showing no signs of cosmetics and her lustrous shadowy hair cascading down her back, and her dark, elongated eyelashes bordering her big, curious amber eyes on her pallid skin.

Though both Miku and Elianna's beauty were equal, it was clear Miku had more of a young girl's 'cuteness' and 'prettiness' whereas Elianna held a cold, regal beauty a queen would be expected to have.

"Wooow! Are you a fairy?" Miku chirped, eyeing Elliana with clear adoration, "This humble daughter of a baron is Miku! Who are you fair lady?"

Elianna faltered, weighing whether Miku was being sarcastic or mocking her, "My name is Elianna, this is my twin brother over here." Elianna blushed and looked away, unused to compliments from a stranger.

"How about we all go together shopping?" I suggested, "That way, I can catch up with Edward. Elianna and Miku can bond together."

Edward grinned with pride, as though I was incredibly intelligent to come up with such a simple idea and gave me two energetic 'thumbs up'.

"So, do you guys like waffles? 'Cause there's a new shop that opened up and serves amaaazing sugary cuisines!" Miku hummed, and, for a second, I thought I saw two pink neon hearts floating in her eyes.

~~~~~~~~~~
"Ah… I'm stuffed!" Miku sighed, her hand resting on her stomach.
"I guess so…" Elianna smiled, her eyes holding a satisfied expression.
We strode onto the concrete pavement and inspected the jewellery shops for the girls.
"EMERGENCY!" A wounded lumberjack sprinted into the village centre, clutching his shoulder, "MONSTERS HAVE ARRIVED! MONSTERS! Help…" And with that, the lumberjack fainted, and collapsed onto the ground.
Excellent. I had been wondering how to use my so-called potent power. According to the otome game… I had to picture and imagine my magic shooting out of my palms?
"Miku, get back there." I demanded, preparing myself to start battling.
"What about you guys?!" Miku questioned, worry clouding in her vivid blue eyes.
I coughed and gestured at Elianna and Edward, who were rolling their sleeves in an aggressive manner. Edward was pulling his sharpened sword at, the sleek metal of the sword glistening in the sunlight, looking like it was ready for blood. Although Edward lacked in physical strength, Edward was often called a sword prodigy. Elianna was bouncing on her heels, looking like a boxer ready for a fight, balling her fists. Miku took a double take when she saw them.
*staaaaare*
Yeah, I definitely won the argument.
Just as Miku, locked herself inside a nearby café with another handful of villagers, monsters sprinted into the village. Monsters with three eyes, furry coots, drenched in blood- all types of beasts burst in. They looked hungry too.
Suddenly, I felt regret for joining in the fight…
Too late to stop now!
