Chapter 6: Starting at the Academy

"Chaaarge!" Edward roared, his steel sword doing deep arcs into his prey, dripping with blood.

Elianna dodged so many attacks, she looked like a blur, finally, she swung her fist and bodies were scattered everywhere around her.

We were not being hunted like rabbits now, the beasts were. I crept up behind three trolls gathered and pictured hot fire shooting at one of them. Scorching blue fire completely burnt all of them to ash.

Oops.

At least I knew what to do now, I just had to be careful not to accidently kill Edward or Elianna. As if my magic could read my mind, whenever there was a risk, I was going to burn Edward or Elianna, the fire swerved around them, and burned the beasts behind them.

At last, we had wiped out most of the monsters, and the rest had fled. Panting, we wiped our foreheads with the towels Miku supplied us.

"IS ANYONE DEAD?!" A small pack of imperial soldiers burst in, their golden swords and armour glinting in the harsh sunlight.

We stood very still, sheepishly we rubbed our heads and Edward hid his bloodstained sword behind his back.

"H-how?" The captain of the imperial army stuttered, inspecting the mass of littered beasts' bodies on the ground. Another guard whispered something in the captain's ear and the captains back instantly straightened. "The imperial army gives our thanks to Lord Edward and Lady Elianna for saving this village with your astonishing strength, and you are…?" The captain caught sight of me and raised an eyebrow.

"This is Lord Grayson, a prodigy wizard and son of Marquess." Edward praised, a smug and proud expression displayed on his face, "And a very close friend of Eli and I!"

"My apologies, thank you, Lord Grayson." The captain corrected himself again.

"Good job!" Miku cheered, flinging herself at Elianna, "Be careful Lady Elianna, alright? I don't know what to do if you get hurt!"

"Ahhh! I'm hungry again!" Edward wailed, his hands flapping frantically in the air.

As I spectated my friends fussing over each other I smirked. I had a feeling I had made a good choice in choosing friends.

"I made cookies!" Miku declared, whipping her basket full of warm, delicious chocolate-chip-cookies.

"Yum! Your cookies are the best!" I grinned, rubbing my hands together, while Edward and Eli nodded behind me with intensely serious faces.

"T-thanks..." Miku blushed and hid her face behind her basket.

Hmm... Strange.

"I can't believe we're in the Academy!" Miku gasped, "It seems like only yesterday when we were just ten! Remember the day you guys battled the monsters and Edward rushed back into the café, only to find out that all the food had been eaten by the villagers while we were hiding, and burst into tears?"

"UGH! Don't remind me of those dark days!" Edward huffed indignantly, leaning his arm onto my shoulder.

Thankfully, Edward had grown taller, and now was my height.

"Hey brother, what're all your classes?" Edward asked, peering over at my timetable.

"I have the same as you guys except I have magic tutoring in fifth period." I answered, chuckling at my friend's gloomy faces.

"MY EYES!" A female squealed, rushing past us,

"THE BEAUTY IS BLINDING ME!" Another feminine scream joined the conversation,

"PRINCE AIDEEEEEN PLEASE MARRRY MEEEEEE!" A shrill voice squawked.

*Staaaaaaaaaare*

I gawked at Eli, noticing whether she felt peeved that other women were so shamelessly admiring her fiancée. Lately over the years, Eli had become so alluring to the eyes, men had fallen on their knees, requesting her simple attention. Weirdly enough, Eli did not seem bothered about her fiancée or other women.

"Eli…? Are you jealous?" I slowly asked, approaching the question with caution.

"Huh? Jealous? Of that fool of a fiancée? Pfft! What nonsense!" Elianna snorted, shaking her head mockingly,

"That's right Lady Eli! That idiot doesn't know how to be grateful for you!" Miku huffed, crossing her arms.

"How many times do I have to tell you to just call me 'Eli'?" Eli asked, exasperated.

"Oh no, I c-can't!" Miku stuttered nervously, her eyes darting everywhere, "I respect you too much, Lady Eli!"

Eli sighed despairingly as we walked towards the first-year buildings.

"Ahh… Is this my beautiful fiancée? And… Who is this charming maiden beside her?" A velvety smooth voice mused.

"Prince Aiden." Eli frowned, refusing to look at him.

Huh? What type of reaction was that?! Wasn't Eli meant to blush and shakily lecture him about his untidy uniform?!

"There, there, don't frown like that or the world won't be able to see your enchanting, amber eyes." Prince Aiden chuckled amusingly, "Don't you think so charming maiden? Oh! You are so appealingly attractive that I must know your name!"

"I don't tell my name to creeps." Miku muttered under her breathe and then added louder, "I doubt Lady Eli will pay you any more attention if you continue to flirt with other females."

Such harsh words!" Prince Aiden laughed, unfazed, "Then I'll convince you next time! Bye byeee!"

"What a creep." Miku spat out, rubbing Eli's back in circles, soothingly, "Poor you, Lady Eli."

HUH?! Wasn't Miku meant to fall in love with Prince Aiden's charm?

"Creep is too good of a word for him!" Edward snorted disdainfully, clutching his sword, "Can I go run him through with my sword, Brother?!"

"No, Edward. Definitely. Not." I denied firmly, even when he pouted and gave me puppy eyes, "Don't worry Eli, Prince Aiden will understand how beautiful and intelligent you are, someday!" I continued, ruffling her glossy, black hair.

"Stupid! You're messing my hair!" Elianna blushed, smiling at me, "Thank you. But I'm afraid that's going to take quite a while."

"Lord Grayson?" A shy voice inquired.

Huh?

"Hi it's me, Rose, the author here. Could you please spare me the time to tell me which characters do you want to see with each other on a romantic route? Thank you~"
