Humble Shack

Meanwhile, in the Yellow Dragon Empire - Zhou Fengren's notorious deed has already been spread around. People avoided him wherever he went.

"Hmph! Staying away from me? Then so be it! I don't want the stench of these stinky brats on me!" said Zhou Fengren as he walked across the streets until he came into a small wooden shack.

"Why is this wooden shack in the middle of such a grand and luxurious empire? Is some crazy old geezer inside?" he said as he entered the wooden shack.

At this moment, he didn't enter some any old random wooden shack - no. What he entered was another world!

Greeted him was a counter with tables and chaira around. This was a tavern - and behind the counter stood a white-robed man with long black hair; a wide smile present on his handsome face. There seemed to be nothing special about this man - he had a handsome face, yes. But his cultivation seemed normal and he did not emanate any special aura.

But at this moment, Zhou Fengren's eyes widened! Something one wouldn't see even in countless epochs.

"You! Why are you here?!" said Zhou Fengren as soon as he entered the restaurant.

"Hm? What do you mean, Senior? I own this little humble shack. Would you like a drink and be served food?" said the young man.

"Hmph! Don't fool me - you know who I am and you know that I know who you are. Give me a drink," replied Zhou Fengren.

"Ah, a crazed madman has entered my humble shack. Alright - one bottle of wine coming up," said the young man as he went and took a bottle of wine at the back of the shelf and placed it on the table.

Zhou Fengren opened the bottle of wine as the wonderful aroma of fine wine filled the air. He grabbed the bottle and chugged it, the wine flowing straight down his throat.

"Hmph! This Venerable is magnanimous and benevolent. How could I possibly crazy? So, why is a being such as yourself here?" asked Zhou Fengren.

"Ah, give me a break. So boring up there! That arrogant old geezer Yao Jingguo has totally gone mad. Sending down tribulations everywhere! He must have hit his head on a wall," replied the young man.

"Hmph, aren't you an old geezer as well, Xing Tian?" said Zhou Fengren as he chugged the seemingly endless amount of wine.

"Rude of you to say that when you are known as a crazy old man! And even if I am, you should know how to have respect for the elderly - don't you flaunt that everywhere?" said Xing Tian.

"How could I be old? This Great Venerable is kind and magnanimous, even Buddha isn't as kind as this Venerable over here! The Dao is my brother, you all are a bunch of juniors before me! Hmph!" said Zhou Fengren.

Xing Tian laughed as he sarcastically said, "Hahaha! Sure, sure. The Dao is your brother. I must be the father of the Dao then! Hahaha!"

Zhou Fengren sighed as he looked at Xing Tian in pity and said, "Ah. No one ever believes this Venerable. You will see soon as my light brilliantly shine over the myriad realms! And so my disciples!"

Xing Tian laughed and said, "Hahaha! Good. I will be waiting for you and your disciples. Make sure not to make them madmen!" This time, he wasn't being sarcastic - it was as if he really believed Zhou Fengren's words.

Zhou Fengren smirked and placed the bottle of wine on the table before he walked outside.

Xing Tian had a smile on his face as he thought, 'Not even leaving a single spiritual stone for me? Hahaha! Brilliantly shine over the myriad realms, huh? I will be waiting then.... junior brother!'

As Zhou Fengren walked outside, he went on his way without looking back. The wooden shack was gone - it was replaced with one of the houses found throughout the Yellow Dragon Empire.

Over at a mysterious realm filled with nothing but boundless killing intent, in this realm of murderous aura floating around was a black throne with spikes erecting out of it. Sitting on this throne was a bearded elder with his long black hair flowing down. He was clad in black robes engraved with glowing purple runes. All of the killing intent from this realm seemed to come from this one terrifying man.

"Now, what is a Buddhist doing in my realm? And a Godking at that?" said the man as every word of his reverberated throughout the entire realm.

Below him was a floating, dazzlingly bright glowing figure sitting in a lotus position.

"My disciple! It was those two brats Dugu Qiubai and Tian Haoran! They escaped that old man's prison, so why was my disciple involved in this?! He did nothing! Absolutely nothing! He only went to try and fix bad Karma with some idiotic Devil! They say the Heavens are just, so why did the Celestial Emperor bring down a tribulation?! Damn it all! Even if I have to revert back to my old self and no longer become the Boundless Light Buddha - then so be it! Celestial Emperor... you wait. I shall show the world the wrath of the Eternal Night Monarch once again! Help me achieve this, I am willing to pay any price!" said the glowing figure as a horrific killing intent emerged from him; albeit incomparable to the man above him, even Godkings would be totally horrified by this aura. His golden light disappeared as a surge of Dark Qi emanated from him, endless malevolence filled his very being.

"And why should I listen to a mere Godking?" said the black-robed man.

The Eternal Night Monarch replied, "I wouldn't have come here for nothing. I will give you 'that item'! And help me reach the Dao Venerable realm. With that, you should be able to make a move against the Celestial Emperor."

The black-robed man spoke while even more killing intent surged from him, "So you were that person on that day. Hmph, so be it. I, the Immemorial Abyss Godfiend, accept your offer!"
