Unfathomable Talisman

Shi Bing was walking around a vast forest filled with countless trees, surrounded by towering mountains. Magical beasts roamed around; many fighting over territories. Yet their instincts told them to stay clear of Shi Bing.

Shi Bing came across a small cave. One would not think much of this cave - most would assume it was a dwelling cave for beasts.

Yet Shi Bing sensed something special from this cave, it seemed as if something was drawing him to it. And so, he headed towards the cave.

As he entered the cave, he realized he was dragged into a completely different world! The sound of his step echoed throughout this world.

Exquisite marble pillars and intricate golden carvings of excellent craftsmanship were present throughout this realm. It resembled a grand hall of a temple.

2 marble statues holding giant spears stood in front of a massive altar in this room. They seemed to me peaceful; the expressions of these statues akin to that one being in heaven and paradise.

Suddenly, these two statues opened their eyes. Their eyes exuded boundless golden light as they released the power of peak Primal Ancestors.

These two statues suddenly dashed at Shi Bing with incredible might! Shi Bing activated all his power immediately as he took out a sword shining with its silver blade shining with white light and his grip firm on the black and gold handles.

He slashed his sword capable of annihilating infinite worlds at the two statues, but his powerful attack was of no use!

The two statues lunged their spears with boundless vitality and might. It seemed as if the very Dao of Strength itself was about to smash into Shi Bing. No laws or techniques would be able to handle this absolute might!

Shi Bing stepped back and slashed with his sword once again. As his sword came into contact with the two spears, the two spears actually started decaying! The boundless vitality within their attacks began to detoriate upon contact with Shi Bing's sword.

"Dao of Strength... impressive. Alas, I have maatered the Great Desolate Dao. All will decay before this Dao. With this, I am not someone to be messed with under the Nine Heavenly Pillars!" Shi Bing said as he striked the two statues again with his sword. The two statues decayed within a few seconds.

Shi Bing walked towards altar, but he realized a mighty pressure descended upon him the closer he got. He was still 60 steps away from the altar - who knew if he could get there?

Each step closer, the mighty pressure got exponentially stronger. Shi Bing gritted his teeth; he clenched his fists so hard the nails dug deep into his flesh. His body was full of sweat - but that did not stop him from going forward.

'This must be a heavenly opportunity! I must go beyond my limits and grasp this chance!' Shi Bing thought as he continued to walk forward, each movement made him break his limit.

As he took the 30th step, the pressure increased even more! The previous one wasn't even an ant compared to this suppression.

'Damn it! I must force a breakthrough with my body now! No choice here!' he thought, as he suddenly activated a terrifying power. This power was capable of halting everything!

Still, this was of no use before the pressure he faced. He gritted his teeth even harder, and drove Qi to every corner of his body. He channeled the power of the Great Desolate Dao on his own body as he started decaying.

The terrifying power from his body seemed to fuse with his Dao, and an even more terrifying power emerged from him! The pressure seemed to be decreasing - the pressure which was descending suddenly being stopped! Within the River of Time, the very event of the pressure descending halted!

Shi Bing used this short time to dash with all his might, skipping 30 steps and finally arriving in front of the altar.

His terrifying power disappeared, and he started panting heavily. The pressure was no longer there. At this moment, he was extremely thin, he looked like a skeleton. This was due to the Great Desolate Dao - Shi Bing is lucky he did not decay to become a corpse. He used all his might to stand up and looked at a mysterious talisman placed upon the altar.

His eyes widened at the sight of this talisman. He felt as if this talisman had a connection with the Supreme Dao itself!

He reached out to grab the talisman, and upon contact with it, he was suddenly ejected out of the realm back to the forest.

Soon, he woke up to see that he was lying on the ground. He stood up to see that there was a frail old man standing in front of him.

"Shi Bing, you look quiet beat up! How did it go? It seems you've become stronger this time too. Hm, you unlocked the next phase of the Eternal Stasis physique. Not bad," said the frail old man. This was obviously Zhou Fengren.

Zhou Fengren reached out his hand and started channeling a mysterious power towards Shi Bing. It seemed as if he was being healed by the Dao of Life itself.

Shi Bing returned to his original state, and even stronger. He stood up and took out the mysterious talisman, as he said, "Master. I found this within a cave. Do you know what this is?"

Zhou Fengren's eyes widened as he said, "This... it's from 'that person'! You must give this to me. Don't ever speak of this talisman to anyone."

Shi Bing handed the talisman to his master as he asked, "Why? What is this talisman? How could it cause you to be shocked?"

"This is forbidden knowledge. Don't ever ask about it, or speak about it. Alright, let's go, ignore it and pretend as if you never saw it." Zhou Fengren replied.

'What could this talisman possibly be for master to tell this?' Shi Bing thought.
