Hidden scheme

It had been three years since Ashley arrived at the castle, but she fitted in nicely.

Only one thing bothered her and it was precisely that one thing that was happening to her now.

It was a long story but summarised: she was currently running for her life.

Not the kind like she would die if she didn't, but it still felt the same for her.

"Miss Ashley, please stop!"

Many people in uniforms were running behind her.

"No, I hate needles!"

Though she was still small, seven years old, she could still keep her distance from the chasing adults.

Running through many corridors, she managed to lose the tail that was following her.

Breathing a sigh in relief, she hid herself in N's room.

She knew he was currently with her dad, so it wasn't occupied.

"Syl, Sylveoon."

Sylveon worriedly looked at her red face which was feverish and sweaty.

Sylveon walked towards her as it patted her head with its feelers.

"I hate needles. I don't want a shot."

Sylveon sighed in exasperation.

It had been like this even before she'd stayed here.

Even back at home, she would run like crazy as soon as she had to get her periodical check-up and shots.

"But I won't get sick this time, promise."

She would sound really convincing, if it hadn't been for her burning skin and hazy eyes.

"Shaymiiiiin!"

Shaymin angrily rebuked her again as jumped on her lap and put its little paws on her head.

He knew she would get feverish when she healed others too much, but she still did!

Ashley pouted again, even if she knew Shaymin was right.

"But, the needles hurt more than when I was at home."

Shaymin still squeaked, as it seemed to scoff at the skill of the doctors.

"I still won't go."

She curled herself up with a blanket as she hid behind the skateboard rampart.

Shaymin jumped away as he left through the door, huffing and puffing in annoyance.

"Shaymin is so mean to me."

Sylveon sighed as it silently agreed with Shaymin, they really wanted her to get better.

"I will wait till it passes without the shot."

Sylveon sighed again as it lay down beside her.

At least she would stay beside Ashley. If something went wrong, she would take her to get help immediately.

Unfortunately for Ashley, the fever didn't go down.

Outside the door were the chaotic sounds of yelling and running.

"Find her quickly!"

The running sound damped, as it got more distant.

With a small creak, the door to the room opened.

A lone person walked in, walking straight to the place where Ashley had hidden herself.

"You really are too much sometimes."

N stood in front of the sleeping Ashley with Shaymin in his arms.

At his side stood two girls, one with blonde hair, the other with pink hair.

They had both the same coloured eyes as their hair. Their eyes complimented their hair, while Ashley had aquamarine eyes, completely different than her own hair.

N gently lifted her in his arms as he left his room and went towards the sickbay.

Ashley woke up, already recognising where she currently was.

Trying to escape as quickly as possible, she was immediately detained by the uniformed people, the grunts.

"Please bear with it, miss Ashley. It will be over as soon as possible."

The grunts tried to pacify her, which didn't work.

"Nooo! I hate needles! I hate pain! I want to go."

Though she struggled fiercely, she soon ran out of strength due to the fever.

Falling down helplessly on the bed, she glared with teary angry eyes at the grunts, which only found her adorable.

"My, my, back again so soon, miss Ashley? I began to think for a second you didn't like me."

A man with blond hair, glasses and a lab coat, walked into the room, carrying in his hands a little suitcase.

One lock of his hair was blue, curling around his head like the feathers of a peacock.

Already knowing what was inside the suitcase, Ashley began to struggle again.

"My, my, please bear with it miss Ashley. It will be over as soon as possible."

"I really hate needles. Can't Mr. Colress change it to something else?"

Colress rummaged through his suitcase, quickly pulling out a giant needle.

"Well, we can't do that at the moment, we only have syringes available. It will take a while to make pills, so please bear with it, okay."

Colress stepped closer, while the grunts pinned her down on the bed.

While struggling futilely, Colress inserted the needle into her neck.

"Gyaaaaa!"

Ashley screamed out her lungs, as the needle was pushed in deeper.

Colress didn't seem to hear it as he inserted the medicine inside and pulled out the needle.

Placing a Band-Aid on the puncture wound, he clapped his hands in satisfaction.

"Well, this should do it. It'll take a while for the fever to go down, but it should work better than the last time."

Ashley glared with teary eyes at Colress as her body hurt where the needle had been.

Even now it the pain remained, as the medicine seemed to burn through her body.

"I really hate you the most."

Ashley mumbled as she closed her eyes.

"Well, I'm honoured you think of me like that, little miss."

Colress smiled as he sat down beside her bed and read through her medical chart.

"The little lady's health is improving with leaps, as does her ability. Though I really want to see which way we can influence it. Maybe we can make it so she can also drain her targets of life force? It's really intriguing to imagine the possibilities."

Colress mumbled as he talked towards the monitors in front of him.

"Though the drug still has the side effect which leads to temporary deteriorated health after the shots, it should be fixed with a few adjustments to the drug."

Colress still talked to himself, lost in though as the man on the monitor seemed to lose his patience.

"How long before it's improved?"

"Half a year? Maybe longer? It's difficult to decide, as there has been no precedent of such abilities before. I really wonder where you found the little lady.

Maybe the environment played a role to her ability."

Colress, again lost in his own world, still waited to the man's answer.

"The Kalos region."

The man didn't respond further.

"Ah, but of course, they have fairy-types over there, do they not? Maybe it was their influence that brought this possibility."

"Colress, update when there are further developments."

"But of course Lord Ghetsis."

The monitor went off-line, while Colress was still deep in thought.

Meanwhile, neither had noticed the small Pokémon that had heard the whole conversation.
