Traveling for the first time.

Having set out on her journey, Ashley walked through Sandgem town on her way towards Jubilife City.

She held the map firmly in her hand as she searched for the signpost for route 202. as she finally found the signpost, she had already left Sandgem town and was walking through the forest.

While she walked she spotted many kinds of Pokémon. Pokémon like Wurmple, Bidoof and Starly.

They seemed cautious yet curious as they often looked through the greenery towards her.

Sylveon walked happily forward as she greeted all the wild Pokémon she saw. She seemed to be excited too, to finally start their journey.

Shaymin however, chose to stay in his own private spot, Ashley's arms.

"You know, you could walk too."

"Shaymiiin."

Shaymin just harumphed. Why should it walk when he could just stay in her arms. He would walk when he chose to, not because Sylveon did it too.

"You're such a baby sometimes. How could you become my protector if you are so lazy?"

Ashley taunted, a sly twinkle in her eyes.

Shaymin looked at her with astonishment. Lazy? Me? No way! He was really strong, strong enough to protect her, so what if he liked to stay in her arms. It didn't mean he was lazy. He was just...just...no matter, he wasn't lazy!

As the day passed, evening came.

Ashley looked around her for a good camping spot. She had only traveled past half of route 202, so she had to find a nice clearing big enough for her tent.

"Syl, Syl, Sylveooon!"

Sylveon sped towards her as she grabbed Ashley's arm and pulled her away from the path.

"Found something?"

Sylveon didn't aswer as she just continued to pull her along.

Not long after, Ashley could hear the sound of running water. As she sped up, she could see a small stream in front of her with enough space for her camp.

"Nice job, Sylveon."

She patted Sylveons head in thanks, followed by her taking out her Pokéball.

"Come on out, Chimchar."

As the Pokeball opened, Chimchar appeared. When Chimchar came out, he first looked around before he sped towards her and greeted her.

"Chimchar, can you help Sylveon gather wood for the campfire. Meanwhile Shaymin and I will put up the tent."

"Chim chim Char" Chimchar nodded as he followed Sylveon into the woods.

Ashley rumaged in her bag until she found the tent, after which she began to skillfully and quickly put up the tent. Though she'd said Shaymin would help her, she hadn't expected much. Currently, Shaymin was watching her put up the tent, sometimes snickering when something went wrong.

She began to feel ticked when Shaymin snickered again as the tent wouldn't stay still. Fortunately for her, Sylveon and Chimchar came back just in time. She was only an inch away from shoving Shaymin into the water.

As Sylveon helped her with the tent, Shaymin finally decided to help with the chores as he started to help Chimchar build up the campfire.

Before long the campfire started to burn and the tent had been put up.

"Now why don't you guys go play, while I make us some dinner?"

They all seemed to agree as they immediately began to run around and play with the water.

Ashley looked at them warmly as she began to cut the vegetables and the meat to make them some stew and a berry salad. As a side dish she would make some spicy curry. For the Pokémon, she specially made their favorite Pokémon food.

While Ashley rolled up her sleeves to get started, Sylveon and Shaymin were relaxing nearby, with Sylveon cooling her paws in the stream. Chimchar was trying to control his flames, as he tried to make them burn hotter.

From time to time he would succeed in making his flame turn slightly blue, but immediately after he would be spent.

Still, he seemed to enjoy it a lot, as he could feel himself getting stronger and gaining more experience with his flame. He looked back at Shaymin lazing around, swearing solemly that he would be a better protector than that lazy ball of leafs.

He was really looking forward to the moment when he would see a startled look on Shaymin's face, as realisation hit him that he wasn't the strongest. He wasn't, as Sylveon was stronger, but he would still vie for a spot above Shaymin in the power rankings.

He snickered as if he already saw it, making his determination grow stronger.

Shaymin shuddered as he suddenly got a chill down his back. For some reason he felt threatened. Shaymin looked around to find the source, but only saw Ashley, Sylveon and Chimchar.

Not knowing where the chill came from, Shaymin couldn't seem to lose it. Deciding that he would turn his mind to something else, Shaymin began to wander through the forest in search of a little snack before dinner.

Sylveon looked once at Shaymin, followed by a look at Chimchar and only shook her head in disapointment. If Shaymin continued being so lazy, Chimchar would really laugh at him in the face.

Sylveon pondered to herself, slightly immagining it too and seemed to find it funny as she too snickered. She too would like to see the annoying look of Shaymin being turned into shock.

Maybe he would help around more if he was a little less arrogant.

While Sylveon and Chimchar couldn't stop imagining Shaymin's downtrodden face, Shaymin was scouring the forest.

Shaymin saunterd through the forest, sniffing the air for the smell of his favorite Oran berries. Pecha wouldn't be bad either as he liked the taste of that too.

As he kept looking around, all he saw were Wurmple and Bidoof. When he asked them if they'd seen any berries, they refused to answer. That was their food stock, they weren't about to give it to another Pokémon.

Dejected, Shaymin went back towards the camp. Luckily he was right on time, cause when he came out, Ashley had just finished dinner.

That night they all enjoyed a warm meal underneath a starry sky.

When it was time to sleep, Ashley spread out multiple blankets inside her tent, providing more than enough space for all of her Pokémon to sleep together with her.

Unlike other trainers, Ashley like to let them sleep with Pokémon. This way they could bond better, while the other point being her love of cuddling her Pokémons silky soft fur before she fell asleep.

"Goodnight, everyone." Ashley whispered sleepily, burrying her face in Sylveons soft fur.

In response, all her Pokémon responded in kind as they all cudled close to each other to enjoy their first night out.
