Performance round.

(A/N: Chapter will be a little shorter than normal. Still, enjoy the chapter.)

As the Pokéball opened, within a cloud of pink and white confetti, Sylveon was revealed in its midst.

She made a little salto in midair as she gracefully landed on the ground.

"Now Sylveon, Misty terrain!" Ashley said.

Sylveon complied as a Pink light infused the ground, releasing a thin pink mist.

"Follow it up with double team and Safeguard."

Sylveon did so and happily ran through the mist like a group of cute fairy spirtes while she emitted a slight glimmer caused by the safeguard.

She happily bounced up and down, running circles after each other as it seemed like she was playing tag with herself.

"Finish it up with dazzling gleam."

Sylveon used Dazzling gleam, dispelling the misty terrain, making it swirl upwards and spreading out is a waterfall of little pinks glimmers that descended in the crowd.

Sylveon lastly struck a cute pose, using her ribbon like feelers to make a little heart.

The crowd went insane with the cheering, standing up in their seats. Even the judges were standing as the clapped.

"What a beautiful display of a fairy-type Pokémon. Truly wonderful. Now, let's hear what the judges think about it." Mirian said, as the crowd focussed their attention on the judges.

First was Mr. Contesta, a middle aged man in a red suit.

"Truly marvelous display. Sylveon seemed so happy, it almost made me want to join in just to experience it." Mr. Contesta said.

second was Mr. Sukizo from the Pokémon fan club, who just responded with "Remarkable!"

Lastly was Nurse Joy from Jubilife City's Pokémon centre.

"It was so beautifull, especially how Sylveon seemed to shine everytime it moved while in the misty terrain as it danced. It shows how well you know your Pokémon's character as it was clearly enjoying itself." Nurse Joy said.

"There you have it, give another grand applause to Ashley and her Sylveon as we move on to the next contestant." Mirian said, after which the crowd went wild again in their applause.

Ashley returned to the waiting room, already seeing Dawn being extremely nervous.

"What if I don't make it?" She said, almost squeezing her Piplup to death in her grip.

"Relax Dawn, You did great." A girl besides her said. The girl had short red hair and wore a gorgeous white tailcoat.

"She's saying the truth Dawn, you did great." Ashley said as she joined their conversation.

"Ashley! You were great too. It was so pretty your performance." Dawn said excitedly, making Ashley shrink back a bit at the energetic response.

"Thanks Dawn. You should thank your Pokémon too for their beautiful performance. You've trained your Piplup well." Ashley said as she stroked Piplup's head.

Piplup seemd to pride itself over his performance as her immediately stuck out its chest in pride.

"Wow, you're just as prideful as my Shaymin. I bet you'd be best buddies."

Ashley said, while she also went to greet the red headed girl.

"Hi, my name is Ashley. Nice to meet you."

The girl shook Ashley's hand as she too introduced herself.

"Hi, I'm Zoey, It's nice to meet you too Ashley." Zoey said as she immediately calmed down Dawn.

"All right people, the result you've all been waiting for. Now take a look at the screen." Mirian's voice said on the screen as every contestant looked to see if the'd made it.

As Dawn saw her result, she was glad to see she'd made it. Zoey immediately warned Dawn that this was only the start and that it was too early to relax.

Ashley glanced at the screen and was glad to see her picture on it too.

"Now, let's see who will battle who." Mirian said as the pictures began to mingle.

As the pictures stopped, a whole battle table was visible. Ashley looked to see she was up against a purple haired girl and if she won, Zoey.

"Then everyone, the best of luck." Ashley said, as she was the first to battle.

Ashley prepared herself for her battle as she began to feel fired up for her battle. Sylveon seemed to feel the same as a look of determination was clear in her eyes.

"Ready to do this Sylveon? If we win, we'll be up against Zoey. She's really strong from what was seen of her performance."

Sylveon seemed to thing nothing of it as her determination only seemed to grow.

"The let's do this Sylveon, let's have a lot of fun without any regrets!"

Ashley said full of excitement that was clearly shared between her and Sylveon.

As she returned Sylveon to her Pokéball, she couldn't wait to begin the battle, wondering if this is how it felt to be a battle junkie.
