Entering the Contest.

(A/N: explanations are for people who are new to Pokémon.)

Ashley and her Pokémon had woken up early, ready to try some of their combinations before the contest would start.

From what she knew of contests, they would first start with Performance stage. It would be all about Pokémon showcasing their skills and moves. The appeals would be awarded by the judges with points. The trainers with the highest of points would move on to the next round. The amount of trainers passing the first round would vary.

After that would be a Pokémon battle that would showcase the beauty of the moves of the Pokémon during the battle. When moves fail or lose appeal, you would lose points.

You lose automaticaly if your Pokémon faints. The one with the most points move on, until there is only one winner left. That person would be awarded with a Ribbon named after the Contest it took place in.

Ashley went outside of the Pokémon centre, greeting the still slightly dark sky. Sylveon, the Pokémon Ashley chose to do her Contest with, was jumping to get started.

"Alright Sylveon, let's first warm up a bit before we start, make sure you're in tip top shape." Ashley said as she too started to do some stretches.

Sylveon nodded as she copied Ashley's moves.

"Ready? Then let's start!" Ashley said as she fist pumped at the sky.

Ashley stood in front of the contest hall, slightly nervous as she went inside and registered at the registry desk.

"Excuse me, I would like to register for the contest." Ashley said.

"But of course. Here's a registry form. Is this your first time?" The reception lady asked.

Ashley nodded as she filled in the form.

"In that case, here are your ball capsules, Ribbon case, rule book and your seal case. Do you know how to use them?" The reception lady said, as she handed a small box filled with capsules and seals, a little book and a small purple case for the Ribbons.

Ashley nodded again as she handed back her form.

"Then I wish you luck." The reception lady said as she processed the file.

Ashley thanked her and put a ball capsule and a seal over Sylveon's Pokéball.

For now, the only Pokémon outside of the Pokéball was Sylveon, as Shaymin wouldn't participate. He wasn't happy but still went inside as it was a necessity.

Ashlesy was glad she had bought herelf a pretty outfit for the contest, it would be embarassing to enter a contest without one.

Having one hour to get ready, Ashley quickly dressed herself into her outfit. It consisted of a short white yakata with blue/pink ribbons, white stockings and a pink skirt, just like how her Sylveon looked like. For her hair she did a simple braid with a plain blue ribbon to tie it up. While on her feet were white Mary Janes.

She wanted to resemble sylveon closely to work better together.

For Sylveon there wasn't any dress up items. Sylveon was as beautiful as she currently was. Accesories would only draw the attention away. Brushing would be enough to let Sylveon shine even brighter.

"Alright, ready to do this Sylveon?" Ashley said, trying to swipe away her nervousity.

Sylveon nodded as she was looking forward to trying to do a contest.

A timer went of and the schedule for the performance rounds were put up.

Ashley appeared to be somewhere in the middel, glad she wasn't first.

While she waited in the waiting room for her turn, she again spotted the familiar blue hair, but this time Dawn was dressed in a pink dress. She seemed to be very nervous.

"Hey Dawn, how are you doing?" Ashley said as she walked up to her.

Dawn became startled as someone suddenly called her. When she turned around to see who it was, she was surprised to see Ashley again, the assistant from the Pokémon lab.

"Wow, it's nice to see you Ashley. I'm doing fine, just slightly nervous, but everyhting will be fine. How are you doing?"

Dawn said, trying to distract herself.

"I'm doing great! I was trying this contest stuff out to see if me and my Pokémon would like it. So we're just curious, nothing serious." Ashley said, Sylveon nodding in agreement.

"And who is that boy behind you?" Ashley said, curious about the boy with his Pikachu.

Before Dawn could reply the boy introduced himself.

"Hi, I'm Ash from Pallet Town and this is my partner Pikachu."

Ash said all cheerfully and Pikachu greeted her too.

"Hi back, I'm Ashley and this is my partner Sylveon."

Ashley said, glad to meet someone new.

"Wow, I've never seen that Pokémon before."

Ash, just like Dawn did on her first meeting with Sylveon, pointed his Pokédex at Sylveon and heard the Pokédex information. (A/N: Not going to repeat the entry.)

"Sylveon huh, I never knew there was a fairy-type evolution of Eevee."

Ash seemed happy at the new discovery.

"Well, we are originally from Kalos after all." Ashley said as a matter of fact.

"I see. Well I'm up next, wish me luck." Ash said as he stormed of towards the stage.

Affected by Ash's cheerfulness, Ashley looked forward to her own performance.

Having seen many performances, consisting of Ash, Dawn and many others, it was finally Ashley's turn.

"We're up Sylveon. Remember, it's all about having fun. It doesn't matter if we don't win this round or this contest."

Ashley said after which Sylveon energetically replied, totally agreeing with her trainer.

"All right then, let's go."

Ashley put Sylveon back into her Pokéball and proceeded towards the stage, ready to have some fun with her Pokémon.

As she arrived near the entrance towards the stage, the first thing she noticed was the huge crowd cheering on the contestants.

"And now our next contestant, it's Ashley!" Mirian, the announcer said in her microphone.

Her voice echoed in the whole stadium, hyping up the crowd.

Ashley took a deep breath as she ran on stage and took out her Pokéball.

"It's time to have some fun, come on out, Sylveon!" Ashley said as she threw her Pokéball, revealing a cloud of pink and white confetti with in its midst Sylveon.
