As a part of the deal I made with Dai Jiang last night, I head over to the Treasury with Lia to hand over all the goods, three magnum handguns and three crates with half a year's worth of ammunition. Lia is coming along to keep me from getting lost, although I dislike the reason since I don't think that even I can get lost with how close the Treasury is but I won't complain since it's rare for us to be able to spend time alone together.
As we enter the Treasury, we meet up with Dai Jiang as she guides us over to a large back room in the auction hall.
"So where are the goods," Dai Jiang asks
"I highly suggest you close your eyes, Dai Jiang, unless you want to be traumatised," Lia says.
"I'll get it out now," I say as I begin to open my mouth wide.
"I really suggest you close your eyes, it is really in your best interest," Lia says as she moves to block me from Dai Jiang's sight.
"Fine, if you're really going to insist that much, I will."
A few moments later, Lia gives the ok for Dai Jiang to open hers as three large wooden crates appear. She goes over to check the contents and confirms everything is in order.
"Everything looks good, I've arranged for your guns to be sold right before the Taotie bones. I don't think she'll need it but help little Wan if she needs to borrow money," Dai Jiang says before handing me a black card, similar to what Wanjing showed the other day, "here is your Treasury VIP Card, like little Wan, yours also has a small star marking on the four corners, this indicates your special discount privileges and grants access to the private balcony rooms when attending the auction. The auction will be starting in about one and a half hours, do you want me to see you two one of the balcony rooms?"
"Yeah, might as well wait around and relax until the auction starts," I say.
Hearing my confirmation, Dai Jiang guides us up a flight of stairs, leading to a curves hallway with a handful of doors on the right side only.
"Quite lucky your so early, you get to have your pick on which room you'd like to use today."
After getting a quick look at each room, we decide on what is labelled as the seventh room. In total there are thirteen rooms and the seventh is right in the middle, giving us the best view of the auction hall.
"A good choice. Anyways, come and take this," Dai Jiang says, handing me a small sign with the Shenzhou number for one written on the top, "use this when you want to place a bid and put some Divine Energy in it and it will light up. After being acknowledged by the auctioneer say your price and remove the flow of Divine Energy. But since your outsiders you may not comprehend how to use Divine Energy, so just have little Wan deal with it. Speaking of, once she and your friend arrive I'll have someone guide them up to you. Now if you'll excuse me, I still have some things that I need to prepare for."
As we have plenty of time to kill, we decide to just lounge around. As I go to lay on the couch, Lia quickly follows and lays her back on top of me. Intertwining her tail with mine we just make small talk for a while.
"Now that I think about it, didn't you mention something about eating a lot for a mutation the other night, did you get enough biomatter?"
"Yeah, I underwent the mutation process last night after we returned, but the rest of you were all sleeping at the time. But did you really have to ask, can't you see just by looking through the Soul Connection?"
"I can, but I'd rather hear you say it yourself. So what did you get? Last I check you had a lot of biomatter saved up."
"Spacial Sense, it cost me 40,000kg of biomatter. On its own, it honestly isn't worth the price I paid for it as it's effect isn't too impactful. It gave me a new organ that allows me to feel fluctuations in space, so basically, if someone ever uses the Primal Element of Space around me I'd know it."
"Is that all, that doesn't sound like much."
"That really is all it does as its own ability, but the most important part isn't that, rather, it allows me to unlock more spacial mutations. After I little digging around, I found that if I have enough I can create my own Spacial Essence."
"Wonderful so your one step closer to your goal now."
"Yeah, so..."
Our small talk went on for about an hour until people started to enter the auction hall and before long Aurelia and Wanjing arrived. Handing over the sign Dai Jiang gave me over to Wanjing, I take a quick peek out from the balcony as rows of seats are being filled quickly.
But the peace before the auction is interrupted as we hear a bit of arguing right outside our door.
"What do you mean a group is already occupying the seventh room, I have always used this room, I demand that you let me in and kick them out! Don't think I'm not afraid to drag the city guards here! Do you not know who I am!?"
"We know full well who you are, Sun Huang, the son of Ji Province's Governer-General Sun Ming. But even so, you can't demand that we remove the rightful occupants of the room. The rules clearly state that the rooms are given to the VIPs on a first come first serve basis."
"Forget it, there isn't a point in dealing with a couple of mere security guards, hold them back while I deal with the unwelcome occupants in my room."
"Yes, Sir!"
Likely being restrained by the people this kid brought with him, the Treasury security guard yells out, "you can afford to mess with the people behind that door!" but these words fall on deaf ears as the door begins to move.
Of course, we had all been listening to the conversation this whole time and just as the door slides open I punch the young man in the face, sending him crashing into the wall not too far behind him. Having been completely unprepared for my surprise attack, he looks to be unconscious after making contact with the wall.
"Young Master Sun!" one of the boy's bodyguards yells out as he approaches me, ready to strike in retaliation, but as I step past the threshold of the door and approach this Sun Huang fellow, the bodyguard stop in his tracks, "D-D-Dragonoid!"
Upon seeing my appearance, the two bodyguards pick up the body of the unconscious Sun Huang and runoff. One of the Treasury's guards apologises for the inconvenience as the other goes to report this to their higher-ups.
With this small disturbance out of the way, the auction begins.
