I'm so generous

As the auction went on, we were able to get a little more familiar with the currency and coinage system in Shenzhou. Coins are split into three sizes, small, medium, and large, although they don't seem to have the same value as their opposite on the outside, their value should be relatively close. When dealing with large sums of money though, the coins are tied up in a string that closes at one hundred coins.

After a few rounds of stuff gets sold off, my guns finally show up on stage. With a few people moving in the background, setting up a training dummy and fitting it with armour, the auctioneer gives a brief overview of how it works. Just as she finishes, Dai Jiang walks onto the stage and begins to demonstrate their effectiveness. They also added an additional bonus that I didn't plan for, along with the gun and bullets, they are selling a small pouch to carry and store the bullets as well.

Dai Jiang's demonstration was able to draw the attention of quite a few people from the looks of it. But that was only with the first shot she took without infusing anything into the chamber. Taking aim once more, she begins to infuse it with Divine Energy, soliciting a far bigger reaction as the training dummy they arranged for was almost completely destroyed. As the auctioneer explains the difference between the two shots, I see more and more people look at my weapons with interest.

When I spoke with Dai Jiang earlier we came to settle on 290 strings of large coins as the opening bid with the increment bottom line being 10 strings of large coins, and even if I didn't know it at the time, it really was a bit pricy. But now, without even saying anything to me, the price got pushed up to 320 strings of large gold with increments of 15.

I artificially raise the price with a bit of foul play as I bid on them as well, temping others to compete. Overall I end up making 1,476 strings of large coins, and that's after taking into account the discount from my VIP status.

Having sold my guns, they begin clearing the stage and bring out the Taotie bones that Wanjing wanted. When I was looking through the list of items being sold today, I didn't think that these bones would attract too much attention. I was clearly wrong as there are a bunch of old people in both the other balcony rooms and the ground floor, all competing fiercely for these bones.

"Why did all the alchemist and blacksmiths have to come out now of all days," Wanjing grumbles as she turns to me, "I need to borrow some money, I don't think I'm going to have enough... mostly because of your eating habits."

As I was about to refuse, Wanjing sprung those last few words on me, Aurelia and even Lia to give me a strange look. The current bid is already at 1,234 strings of large coins, clearly approaching the limit of what Wanjing can afford. Giving in to the stares of the three around I agree to lend her some money, but I don't forget to tack on just a little bit of interest, only 20% weekly. I'm so generous, I didn't even charge daily.
