Puppet General

Lin Feng and Eshu were being attacked from all sides, so there was no space to defend themselves properly, so both of them took advantage to train themselves, seeing no escape from this fight.

His metal-clad body punched his ways through puppets, piles of flesh were on the ground, and the blood of the flesh puppets turned into a sea of blood.

Feng frowned, he was tiring out, and the mob seemed to be never-ending.

"What to do? What to do?"

His thoughts ran wanton in his mind. He had always known that one of his major flaws was the lack of AoE (Area of Effect) attacks. All his attacks were mostly physical, so he searched his ancestral memories for any skill he could use.

As he was filtering through his memories, the army closed in on him and Eshu. His memories proved to be less useful than he thought. The army had already enclosed him, and he was left with no breathing space. Suddenly, a memory entered his head. This was no ancestral memory. Instead, it came from the skill: Primordial Path of Asura.

Bloodied words floated in the void of his mind. They radiated majesty and bloodlust.

"Wraith Summon"

He instantly absorbed this skill and begun to memorise it while the puppets were banging against the origin energy barrier he just made.

In a red space, millions of lanterns were situated everywhere in this red realm. The air rippled, and a metal-clad youth appeared in the red space, it was Feng, his mind entered the space within the book once again.

The first time this happened, he was instantly able to defeat bloodsucker.

Proteus and Damon have separated from him again. It seemed only those who practised the techniques could access the space within his book.

"I'm here in this space again, just what does this place have in store for me this time."

His stay in the blood-red realm didn't last long. The realm trembled, and Feng's body turned into lines and faded away from the space.

This time around, multiple lanterns followed him out.

In the real world, while Feng was in the blood-red space, his barrier had already collapsed, and Eshu was using his Origin energy to support it.

It was at that moment that Feng's body started to vibrate, the lines which formed his frame seemed to be forming phantom images. Proteus, who covered Feng, suddenly retracted back to the ring which Feng kept on him at all times. The clothing which Damon gave him vanished into his spatial crystals, and he was now clad in nothing but shorts. His ripped and muscly yet slim body now stood open, in all its glory.

Feng's veins were blue and seemed ready to pop out at any time. His face had a devilish smile, and his blood vessels could be seen from under his skin.

He took a step towards the barrier and broke it. The mob of puppets instantly flooded above them both, but Feng dashed forward into the mob, they all burst into multiple pieces, the dash sounded like the howling of ghosts, and when he stopped, the pile of flesh had become bigger.

Feng, in this crazed state, begun to unleash the newly learnt skill.

The howling of a thousand wraiths was heard, and an evil power gushed out of his body, this energy formed into multiple ghosts of negativity, also known as wraiths. The wraiths and Feng began to unleash their power on the surrounding puppets.

Eshu, who stood at the side, had already started to cower.

"Master… what is this power?"

Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead. He didn't know what to do, as much as his teacher's skill scared him, he needed to do something, or he would never be at peace with himself.

So Eshu gripped the broken sword that he was given, cloaked it in neutral mana and hacked at the nearest opponent.

This was now a kill fest and an exp farm for the both of them.

Just as Feng and Eshu were grinding, a howl sounded out, and silver-clad puppet appeared from the masses of the now diminishing army of puppets. This figure was stranger than the others. It had several glowing red runes on its body.

In Feng's mind, several alarms sounded out.

"DANGER! ELIMINATE THREAT!"

And this alarm was correct, this silver-general, was a puppet personally refined by the Blood Queen, it still had life in it, but ut as personally controlled by her. It was, in essence, a Living Puppet.

"You're not like those abominations from before, you have life, yet you are dead."

Feng says towards the general, and surprisingly it answered back. Its voice was like a scratchy surface rubbing against another scratchy surface.

"Che, you are but a boy, you don't know much yet, I don't know why the mistress sent me out here to deal with the likes of you, a mere mid-level Gold Rank warrior."

Feng was shocked, this being could speak, and it was able to tell his cultivation rank almost immediately.

"Little Eshu, you might be of help here, think before you enter this fight, make sure you have a skill that can kill it. This is your first lesson; make sure you are ready before you attack."

Speaking under his breath, Feng turned to Eshu, and the stagnant demonic grin on his face widened, even more, his rows of shiny teeth already bloodied from overstretching his mouth.

The negative aura around him intensified, and the wraiths energy had increased another level, with a satisfied.

Feng charged past the crowd of puppets, wanting to get close to the Puppet General, he went through them, but his body that had bare scratches before was now heavily bloodied after passing through the puppet wave.

He now stood face-to-face with the general, and let out a blood-curdling yell.

"KILL!"

At the other side of the battlefield, Eshu heard his masters yell, and felt a bubbly feeling rising from his gut, he could not resist the temptation, and just had to yell along.

"KILL!"

He then cloaked the broken sword in green death mana and rushed towards the battlefield where the wraiths fought.

Feng held out his fists and lashed out like great lariats towards the opponent, and the general responded with fists of his own.

Feng was feeling the fight reach its climax, and he couldn't help but feel excited. His bloodied smile became wider, and the cracking of bones weir heard.

He official got drunk on the battle.
