You're the leader.

Edwyn was overjoyed but kept his calm. They were able to stop it, but it didn't mean that the boss wouldn't do it again.

However there wasn't more surprise, after a long fight of 30 minutes, the boss finally fell. Edwyn just had to watch over the bear to notice the glint, and Aelya would act each time Edwyn called her. That was a nice teamplay but the young boy couldn't help but felt that he hadn't done anything worth mentioning.

Aelya, on the contrary, was the true MVP. She had to avoid any move of the boss while dealing damages at the same time. It required an high focus and she held for 30 minutes!

She was amazing!

[Congratulations. You have gained a level. You are now level 2.]

[Congratulations. You have gained a level. You are now lvl 3.]

Edwyn stared at the announcement which appeared in front of him in awe. The boss has given them a whole two levels!

The young boy turned toward Aelya to share his astonishment, only to find her looking at the corpse of the boss.

"Did you see that Milady Aelya? We are level 3!"

She nodded.

"That's normal, it was a wild boss and we killed him with only two peoples. The experience points are shared equally between the member of the same group."

It was indeed normal. Edwyn blushed and looked at his own feet, a little bit ashamed by his behaviour. He looked like a child!

"How do you want to split the loot?" Aelya asked while kneeling in front of the bear.

It was only at this moment that Edwyn remembered the fact that bosses gave rewards after their death. He came closer and looked at the stack of golden things on the ground.

"I guess it depends on what looted and what we need, no?"

Aelya smiled before nodding.

"That's a simple thinking, don't you think?" She asked.

Edwyn didn't felt there was a problem with his thinking. Was she hinting at the fact he hadn't done anything in this battle ?

"Indeed you're right milady Aelya! You should take more because you've done more!"

She laughed and pinched his cheek. The sudden move and the proximity scared Edwyn and he stumbled and fell on his behind. Noticing the fear in his eyes, Aelya stopped laughing and immediatly apologized.

"Sorry for that, that's a bad habit of mine and I didn't mean any harm."

Edwyn scratched his head and sit on the floor with a pitiful smile.

"Nah that's my fault, I'm easily scared. Not really manly isn't it?"

"I think being manly or not doesn't depend on your attitude or your appearance. It has more to do with your choice while facing a difficult situation." She said. "And I told you it was a simple thinking because usually leaders assigned the loot depending on the global situation, and not personal preference."

"But this has nothing to do with me milady Aelya. I am not the leader."

"Oh really? Then how do you call someone who watch over the patterns of the boss, made the call and made sure that his group survive during all the fight?"

Edwyn was obliged to admit she was right. However he didn't felt like a leader at all.

"You were far better milady Aelya. Without you we couldn't have down the boss! You dealt all the damages and managed to avoid every attack of the boss!"

Aelya frowned and the young boy knew he said something wrong.

"Pretty boy, being too modest is a form of arrogance." She rebuked him. "Your positioning at the beginning of the fight was good. You could have rushed on the boss to attack him but you stayed far away, enough to avoid his roar. Your healing was accurate, no overheal and you kept an eye on your mana consumption during all the fight. You were also able to notice the pattern and came up with a solution. Should I continue or did you get my point?"

This time, Edwyn was divided between pride and embarrassment.

"You have sharp eyes Milady Aelya." Was all he could answer but it makes her laugh.

"I may look like a simple brute but i'm used to tank bosses. This is a critical job where you need to know if you could rely on your teammates or not. If you weren't fit for the task, I would have been obliged to do more and maybe we wouldn't have kill the boss. In our group, you are the leader."

"You... don't look like a simple brute."

Aelya smiled.

"Enough with the compliments, it's time to share the loot. Look at what we get and decide "leader"."

Edwyn nodded and came closer, he selected the first item and immediatly a description apparead in front of him.
