It was late Saturday afternoon when Robin awoke again, she awoke to a lot of pain, the events from before where foggy, she had defiantly hit her head again but she vaguely remembered jumping out of a car to get away from Mr Caldwell, then there was a scarred God who rescued her. Robin could still picture his smooth chest up against hers.
Mr Caldwell was sitting next to her, he had dark rings around his eyes and he looked like he had not slept in days. He was gazing at her intently his ice blue eyes unmoving from hers when he caught her eyes she flinched.
'Where was she?' Robin thought to herself. Robin glanced around the room she was in a huge four-poster bed, with beautiful white lace curtains hanging all around it. The bed was in a cream room, there were two huge windows on either side of a tremendous glass double door that led onto a balcony. On each window hung two red velvet curtains that draped on the floor, the curtains had also been decorated with the same emblem from Mr Caldwell's car. There were other immense pieces of furniture about the room, but even with everything in the room, it still felt spacious and empty. Robin didn't have to guess where she was, she'd ended up at the place she had tried to get away from. Her mind told her to run, but when she went to move pain shot down her back.
"Don't move." Mr Caldwell said calmly, as he placed his hand lightly on her shoulders. "You are lucky to be alive."
"Well if you hadn't forced me to come here.." Robin began, her eyes meeting Mr Caldwells and she fiercely glared at him. Mr Caldwell said nothing but Robin could have sworn she saw a flash of guilt cross his eyes. "I want to go home."
"You can't not until I know you are going to be safe...I have the best doctors here it makes sense for you to stay."
Robin opened her mouth to argue, but she was quickly learning that you couldn't argue with a wall."What about my Mum & Dad, my school work?"
"Mr Bellham has contacted your mum and dad, he has alerted of the accident and that your condition is now stable they were invited to the house, but your mother advised that she had to stay in and look after your father, for the time being. The university has advised that you rest up and that you would be given an automatic extension on all of your essays."
Robin bit her lip, Mr Caldwell was very good at tying up loose ends, "What about my friends if I don't return home on Sunday evening, they will think something happened to me they will call the police."
'Not that something hasn't happened to me...' thought Robin.
Mr Cadwell scoffed when he heard the word police then looked back at Robin, "Mr Bellham spoke with a Pepper just yesterday, she was very concerned about you. She wished to come over but we thought it was better she didn't so you could rest or the time being."
"How long"
"A week the doctor says you are very lucky,"
"Then I can go home?"
"Yes"
Robin sighed a week wasn't the end of the world, and it wasn't like she was in any state to move right now. She looked at Mr Cadwell who was sitting next to her like a statue, she could barely see him breathing. At that point an alarm started to beep from inside Mr Caldwell's pocket, he pulled out his phone switched off the alarm, before dropping in back into his pocket.
"It's 4pm your dressing needs changing," Mr Caldwell pulled back the duvet that was covering Robin and she tensed up, as she felt exposed in just the bandages. Mr Caldwell noticed Robins reaction and he rolled his eyes then he called out "Ms Patch the dressings need changing."
A woman entered instantly like she had been waiting on the other side of the door. She quickly scurried up to Robin and began to undress her quickly.
Robin winced as the woman careful removed the bandages from her, Robin looked around the room for Mr Caldwell she really didn't want him to see her naked, but he had thankfully left. Then Robin thought of how quickly he went to do her dressing in the first place, had he been doing it the whole time?
While the woman worked it gave Robin time to think, a week could be a good time away from the professor and the other men from her journal. She wouldn't be in her apartment if any of them did come over. With her brain lost in thought the exhaustion kicked in and she fell into a deep sleep.
