Chapter 17: Battle to the Death

With Friday arriving Taka and Taka met in the main hall where they had first met, they were both waiting outside the hidden door next to the fireplace until the other masters gave them the okay to come down.

Taka: You have come a long way since the first day we met, I honestly did not think we would be here so quickly

Jake: I know, it's mad how much has happened since then

The hidden door then opened up and they were met with one of the other masters.

Taka: Right let's go then

They walked through the door and made their way down the staircase as it opened up into the massive room once again, Jake looked over to the other masters, they were all sat in what looked like a ranking system something that Jake did not notice the first time he came down here.

Making their way to the middle of the room and looking up towards the other masters.

Taka: Hello all, may I finally introduce you properly to Jake Kynnersly

The same woman who tested Jake's powers last time he was down here stood up from the middle chair.

???: Yes, it's nice to finally meet you, before we start, my name is Gabrielle Vanderburgh

Jake: nice to meet you finally Gabrielle

Gabrielle: Now Jake, Taka here has deemed you worthy and ready to move on to the next stage of becoming a master

Jake: Yes I know I'm ready

Gabrielle: Now you will not be introduced to the rest of us until you have completed this ceremony

Jake looked at Taka then looked back up to her

Jake: Complete this ceremony?

Gabrielle: Yes to become one of us you must first defeat your master in a battle to the death

Jake looked at Taka with a feared look on his face.

Jake: What, I can't kill Taka

Gabrielle: Well Taka here knows the rules and will not hold back

Taka then walked away from Jake and positioned himself ready to fight Jake, Jake hesitantly walked opposite him and took his normal fighting stance, and Jake looked at Taka who looked ready for the fight.

Gabrielle: This is a fight to the death I expect the both of you to be using your full power, especially you Taka

Taka nodded and with that Gabrielle started the fight.

The room fell with silence as Jake and Taka were face to face with each other about to engage in a battle that is going to cost one of them their lives, seconds felt like minutes for Jake as he unsheathed his blade and activated his aura whilst doing so Taka did the exact same, they stared at each other waiting for the first move to begin the battle.

Taka then starts with a big lunge attack that aimed straight for Jake's neck, quickly dodging it by jumping backward but Taka then picked up his speed and darted at Jake with his sword pointing down at Jake's chest giving him only seconds to dodge yet again by jumping in the air and floating there.

Gabrielle: you do know you need to actually attack to pass this stage

Jake not wanting to hurt Taka let alone actually take his life, with the thought of actually becoming a master and also saving his own life Jake pulled up his sword, landing back down on the floor and charged full speed at Taka.

Their swords clashing with a massive explosion of both blue and orange flames, blowing them both backward, with no hesitation anymore Jake charged back at Taka, aiming straight at his legs hoping to get an easy hit, as he approached Taka, Taka suddenly moved to the left at an insane speed making Jake stumble and Taka slicing at his arm cutting it pretty deep.

Jake turned and steadied himself and checked his arm, which was now pouring with blood, dripping down his arms and onto his hands, the pain was only just bearable, Jake now knew that if he did not get more serious he would lose his life, knowing that Taka was not messing around anymore and that he had clearly been holding back in training.

Jake reactivated his aura in a more ferocious way making a fireball in his left hand whilst his sword was in his right flying above Taka firing fireballs at him with no aim just hoping to distract him enough to get a decent hit on him.

As Jake stopped shooting and the ground around Taka covered in a cloud of dust, Jake took his chance and flew downwards towards Taka, slicing down Takas back from the top left of his shoulder all the way down to the bottom right of his back making Taka fall to the ground.

Jake then flew around to the front of Taka and landing right in front of him kicking away his sword and placing the tip of his blade between Taka's eyes, unable to actually finish the fight.

Gabrielle: Good Jake, now, finish it

Jake looked down at Taka and seeing he has a huge smile on his face.

Taka: Well done, now do it and continue your life as a master

Jake with his eyes filled with tears let out a loud scream pulled back his sword and pointed it at Taka's chest stabbing him, impaling him with his sword.

All the masters stood up and looked down at Jake who is kneeled down in front of Taka's body crying over the fact he had just killed his master, they then all started to applaud Jake and started muttering to themselves.

Jake: IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED, WELL I'VE DONE IT, NOW WHAT?

Gabrielle the came down from the seats and made her way over to Jake, standing over him

Gabrielle: Now you will become a master

Jake standing up facing her face to face and clearing his eyes.

Jake: And what does that entail?

Feeling someone tap on his back, Jake turned around and saw Taka standing there unharmed.

Taka: Well this for starters
