Chapter 18: Immortality

Taka stood there with no injuries on him, Jake was looking at Taka in complete disbelief.

Jake: What the hell, how is this possible

Gabrielle: If you follow me I will explain everything

They then walked towards the opposite side of the room where another staircase leading upwards

Gabrielle: When you become a master you are granted immortality, as that is what god gifted us when he made the first angel

Jake: What?

Gabrielle: Please don't interrupt, anyway I'm going to tell you the story of how our powers came to be,

Jake went silent as all the masters made their way towards the staircase.

Gabrielle: when god gifted the first person with this power, a man called Ezekiel came across a grail that was emitting a strange light that felt warm to the touch, as Ezekiel drank from the cup he was transported away from the cave and met with God himself,

Jake had so many questions to ask but did not want to interrupt her.

Gabrielle: God told Ezekiel that he will be the person in charge of recruiting others to join a war that took place within the heavens, a war that was between angels and demons and that took place thousands of years ago

Jake was in complete awe at what she was telling him and as they came to a closed door.

Gabrielle; Behind these doors is the exact cave that Ezekiel was in when he found the Grail

Two of the other masters then opened the doors and a bright white light hit jakes eyes as it revealed a stone podium with a gold Grail on top of it, behind it was a pool of water that seemed to be glowing, Jake was still in awe as they made their way over to the Grail.

Gabrielle: This is the Holy Grail

Jake: So I just drink from this Grail and ill become a master

Gabrielle: Yes and no, you do need to drink the water from the Grail but you also will have to bathe in the pool, this will also knock you unconscious for some time

Jake: Why do I have to bathe in the pool, in your story Ezekiel just drank form the Grail

Gabrielle: Well once you have drunk from the Grail and bathed in the water your soul will be ripped from your body and placed within your sword, turning it into what we call a soul blade, like this one

She then pulled out her blade which also activated her aura with a blinding white light, showing Jake that right at the hilt of her sword all the way down the length of the blade was a white glow that was looked like a liquid in her sword.

Gabrielle: As you can see the white glowing part is my soul, it is displayed by my powers

She then put her sword away deactivating her blinding aura.

Gabrielle: You will also not be entirely immortal there are two ways we can all die and that is if we are stabbed with our own soul blade, or if our soul blade is broken

Jake: Okay so when do I start

Gabrielle: Whenever you are ready, drink from the Grail and we will assist with the rest

Nodding Jake approached the Grail and picked it up with both hands holding it and looking down at the shining water that had filled the Grail to the brim, he took a few seconds before drinking from it

Once he had drunk the contents of the Grail he immediately passed out, the other masters led him into the pool of water and taking his sword unsheathing it and placing it on a pedestal.

As they entered the pool of water a beam of dark blue light came from his body and headed towards his sword, one the light touched his sword it started to engrave a dark blue light strip from the top of the blade down to the bottom.

Once the light stopped the blade then shown a dark blue as did Jake, his aura now connected with his soul blade.

Gabrielle: Quickly someone put the sheath and wrap it up

Taka grabbed Jakes sword and put the sheath on it, then two other masters grabbed some cloth and bound it around the handle, making it so it could not be opened

As they were wrapping it up Jakes aura started to dim down until it completely vanished.

Pulling him out the pool they dried him off and took him back to his room where they would wait for him to wake up, once he was awake they would tell him more about the group and what it means for him and what his task will be now that he is a master and an immortal.
