Chapter 45: The Last Fight

Jake and Valac were locked in battle causing massive damage to each other and the buildings around them, as they were fighting some of the civilians were staying around trying to film it all on their phones.

They were throwing each other through buildings and firing multiple explosives towards each other, flying around the buildings and throwing each other into the ground whilst dealing massive blows to one another.

Jake was looking a lot worse in the fight as he was covered in blood and his robes had taken a lot of damage, each hit from Valac seemed to worse than the others whereas Jakes hit seemed to not be fazing Valac.

Jake fell to his knees trying to catch his breath after getting some distance from Valac.

Valac: If you are still holding back because you don't want to hurt her, don't worry I'll keep her safe, just sacrifice yourself to me

Jake: No, I'm just preparing this

Jake then stood up and took his soul blade off his back and unravelled the cloth, again only being able to unravel it another two times but the increase to his power had boosted incredibly but not enough for Jake to gain his strength.

Jake: Really only two times again, after all, that

Valac: So what exactly were you preparing?

Valac grabbed the blade our of Jake's hand whilst Jake collapsed backwards not being able to move.

Valac: Ah I see now, you have made my life so much easier but I'll give you an option, I can either kill you and this woman now, or you can join me

Jake only just able to lift his head up looked at Valac.

Jake: You can fuck yourself

Valac sighed then completely cut the cloth off the sword as he did Jakes aura burst out of control making Jake scream out in pain, Valac looked down at Jake and smirked as he took the blade out of the sheath revealing the dark blue light that was embedded in the blade.

Jake looked up whilst in pain at the blade.

Valac: Look at that, I do admit these things sure are beautiful, amazed me every time I used one

He then placed the sword over Jake's burning body.

Valac: Last chance

Jake managed to pick himself off the floor still in extreme pain, holding his hand out he used a huge blast of flames knocking Valac across the ground making him drop Jakes Soul Blade which impaled the floor.

Jake holding his sides in pain grabbed the hilt of the sword and pulled it out of the ground, as he did another huge surge of power hit him which restored some of his stamina but was still in extreme pain and could feel his skin start burning away.

Jake held out his sword pointing it towards Abigail's body which was just standing back up, charging up his attack the wind around them started to increase and the flames around his sword expanded outwards.

Valac: STOP

Jake pulled back his attack and looked at Valac.

Valac: You have one last chance, if not I'll kill her

Jake's eyes widened as he came to the realisation that he was about to kill Abigail and that Valac was not joking, Jake then put his sword down to his side.

Jake: What, what is it you want then?

Valac looking down at the floor smirking then looked up at Jake with a worried expression.

Valac: If you let me possess you, I'll let her live

Jake knew it was the only way to save Abigail but also that in his current state he was not going to be able to live much longer anyway.

Jake: Fine

As soon as he said this a huge purple mist shot out of Abigail's body which then fell to the ground, the purple mist then headed towards Jake.

Just as it was about to reach Jake in the last effort to fight pulled his sword up in a blocking position causing Valac to collide with the blue light on his Soul Blade, which turned the blue into a dark purple.

Jake dropped his sword and fell to his knees.

Looking down at his body thinking he had been possessed realized what just happened, he quickly picked his sword up and made his way towards Abigail who was lying on the floor.

Jake slid next to Abigail, picking her head up and placing it on his lap checking her pulse, he could feel a faint beat but knew she was still alive.

Jake: Abigail? Wake up, please

Abigail slowly opened her eyes and looked up at Jake.

Abigail: Jake? You saved me

Jake looked down at her with tears of happiness in his eyes.

Jake: Abigail, I'm so glad you are okay

As he said this Abigail started to scream out in pain whilst grabbing her chest, as Jake check her chest he saw a huge purple spot over her heard and as he realized what it as tears started to stream down his face.

Jake: I'm so sorry, I'm really sorry, why did I have to get you involved

She looked up at him suppressing the pain with tears in her eyes.

Abigail: I got myself into this mess, you did nothing but save people, it's okay

Jake sat there for a while whilst a crowd started to form at the other end of the buildings, the crowd was being contained by local officers who were cording off the area.

Abigail: Even now people don't know who you are, see I told you I can keep a secret

Jake Chuckled

Jake: I never had any doubt in that

Abigail smiled.

Abigail: I'm going to miss you, I had fun, meeting you was the best part of my life

Jakes tears streamed down off his face as she started to fade away.

Abigail: I love you

With that Abigail's head fell to the side as she passed away, Jake kissed her forehead and stood up whilst placing her head slowly down on the ground.

Grabbing his Soul Blade he started making his way towards the huge crowd that was now behind police lines, Jakes aura started to become more out of control, his flames reaching upward 15 stories and bursting outwards.

Each step Jake took he could feel his skin melting off but was not fazed by it at all, Jake stopped picking his sheath up as he did he let out a huge scream with tears down his face his aura smashing all the windows around him, causing the crown to duck down and then he vanished from the spot.

Jake arrived at the top of the monastery, the same place he first got his powers, as he placed the sheath back on his sword his aura settled down and vanished, Jake then teleported to the main hall where he was met with Taka who grabbed him as he fell unconscious.
