To our luck

We soon arrived at Maine in Augusta. We immediately walked off and tried to get tickets to New York.

The train wouldn't leave until another 2 hours giving us time to kill.

We started heading to a cafe when we were stopped by 3 demigods, including the one we left on the train. "You think it would be that easy to get rid of us?" He asked. "We could either let you get killed trying to save Khione or we could save you the trouble and do it ourselves."

I glanced at Seth and he gave me a nod. I uncapped my pen and he started building something.

"My name Brad." One said. "Soccer."

I was confused on what he was saying, but I ignored it and lunged at him. He pushed off the ground and started floating in the air. The other 2 demigods followed giving them the advantage of being above me.

I grabbed the throwing knifes out of my backpack. I only had 4, meaning if I hit each one once, I can only miss once. I threw the first one at Brad and it hit his thigh making him fall to the ground.

The demigod me and Seth left on the bus went to assist him leaving me with the last one. "I didn't imagine meeting my uncle like this." I thought. "Are you really going to hurt your niece?"

"Don't use that sappy talk on me, it won't work. He replied.

"Can I at least have your name." I said trying to stall. Seth was still working on come sort of contraption and I wanted to buy him time.

"Zaine."

"Well, Zaine, how about we work together. You said I would die trying to save Khione, then let me die that way instead. This is not honorable if that is what you want to get out of killing me." I answered.

When I said that, he went into thought giving me all the time I needed to make my move. I shot ice at him and he absorbed it falling to the ground. I was scared he was dead, but I could still see him breathing.

The last demigod I needed to knock out fluttered in the air and swung at my cheek leaving a light slash. I tried to reach for him but he would get up too high for me. I grabbed one of my knifes and threw it at him and he dodged it. 'He has quick reflexes.' I thought.

That second I was thinking in my head was all he needed. He swooped down and pushed me to the ground. He took one of my knifes and hovered over me. "Say goodbye." He said.

Then there was a mechanical robot toy that was marching behind him. Before he did anything to me, he turned around and picked it up. I stood and ran away from it and it blew up. By this time Zaine and Brad were on their feet ready to fight me.

I didn't hesitate and threw another knife at Brad but missed. I only had 1 left and I didn't know how to use it. Seth, one the other hand, was throwing sharp metal at Zaine which he pulled out of his tool belt. Brad swooped down and I slashed his ankle. He didn't seem phased and grabbed my arms lifting me in the air.

I tried shooting ice at him but it was no use. Ice didn't work on ice.

Zaine did the same to Seth and said, "You know what, I think we have a better place to put you." He laughed and Brad followed. They flew us to some dark alley way and hung us by our feet.

They left us there and 2 huge one eyed monsters came out from the shadows. "Dinner!" One shouted. They ran off giving me time to talk to Seth.

"We only have around 15 minutes before we pass out from all the blood going into our head." I said.

"If we are alive by then." He replied.

I swung by body up and reached over to Seth's tool belt. "How did nothing spill out?" I asked.

"I'll tell you later. All you have to do is ask for something in your mind and it will give it to you.

I asked for a cutting knife and pulled out a flimsy blade. "Good enough." I muttered.

I first cut the rope for Seth causing him to fall to the ground head first. "You okay?" I asked.

"Ya" he said sitting up rubbing his head.

I cut my top and ended up landing on my feet. We have to go before the Cyclopes come back." Seth said.

We ran out of the alley way and spotted the Cyclopes coming back. We hid behind some wood crates and the Cyclopes kept inching closer and closer. Out of no where, Seth boosted me up and climbed inside the crate.

When we thought they were gone, the lid of the crate enclosed on us along with s seal. "Oh no." Said Seth.

"Can you get us out?" I asked. One of the movers picked up our crate me were in and we started fumbling around. I looked outside the cracks of the crate and saw we were being loaded into a truck. "Great! I whispered. "We have to get off before we arrive in another state far from New York!"

"If we can get out and check where this is heading, than maybe this can be our ride. The train we were supposed to take had probably already left by now." Seth replied.

We sat in the crate for another 30 minutes and to our luck, they stacked another crate on top of us. "Great!" I shouted.
