Don’t celebrate

Seth's POV:

Even thought, entire ride to the camp was quick and swift, it felt like eternity with Rital in my arms. When I was confident enough to take one hand off the horses main, I would check her pulse to make sure she was still alive. Anything could happen to her when she is in a coma.

My mind was scattered with thoughts and I couldn't stop thinking about what would happen to Rital.

During the ride, I noticed all the snow and ice were vanished, meaning that we did it. Though this would not be a victory with Rital in this state.

Another thing my mind was clouded with is why I cared so much. I have known her for a week yet it feels like we grew up together.

I normally don't get such strong feeling more anyone. I tend to keep people away scared that they will walk out of my life leaving me in the dust.

We entered the woods to the camp and glided through passing all the monsters that lurked near by. None of them could match the speed of Oakley.

We soon were at the front of the camp and demigods were approaching us. I slid of the horse still holding Rital in my hands.

As people got closer, they realized the state Rital was in. I saw Jake flying over the crowd and landing in front of us. By this point Oakley already bolted back into the woods.

"Out of the way!" I shouted. The crowd began to part leaving a path to the medical wing.

"What did you do?" Evan asked not moving out of the way.

"What do you mean? I didn't do this." I replied calmly.

"Really? Then what is all that blistering all over her body?" He asked with a stern look on his face.

I looked down back at Rital and observed her skin. It was much worse than it was after war games. Much more severe. It looked like it would leave a lot of scars.

"I will explain it later. But right now we have to focus on getting her awake." I said pushing past him.

I continued to the medical wing and much more demigods came to see what happened.

"I can't believe Seth would do that!" One whispered.

"Ya, what a monster." Another replied.

"Well, not having her around might not be the worst thing. The most important thing is that there quest was successful."

'Successful? She is in a coma.' I thought.

I brushed off all the comments and kept charging towards the medical wing with Evan following behind.

Once I entered Evan shouted, "We need and ice bath. And some ambrosia!"

One of the nurses came other to me and looked at Rital. She took her breath away. And not in a good way. Her pale skin was critically blistered.

"Come right this way." She said with a warm smile filled with worry.

She brought us to a sectioned off room in the back and I laid her on the bed. Next to the bed was a tin bathtub and the nurse when out of the room to fetch ice.

I stood next to the bed and squeezed her hand. I wanted to talk to her but I felt uncomfortable doing it since Evan was watching over me like a hawk. He seemed confused why I was holding her hand making me feel uncomfortable.

Evan walked up next to her and sat on the edge glancing at her. He looked at me with eyes of a dagger and turned back to Rital letting out a sigh.

The nurse along with any others rushed into the room with bags of ice and dumped them into the tin bathtub.

"I advice you 2 leave for now. She is in good hands. We will inform you with any updates." One said.

We both nodded and I thanked them.

We exited the room in silence. There was a lot of tension hanging over us and I was tempted to speak to him but settled on keeping my mouth shut.

We walked out of the medical wing and faced a crowd of campers with gleaming smiles. They popped confetti cannons and began cheering and clapping for me.

Even though the quest was successful, it didn't feel like it knowing Rital was in a deep coma.

"Why are you celebrating!?" I shouted over the applause. "Is someone in a coma really a victory for you?"

The crowd turned silent and all looked at me confused. I appreciated the gesture but we really shouldn't be celebrating without Rital. She was the real reason for our success. Tension filled the air and people store at there feet.

I stormed away from the crowd to feel a shove on my back. I flung forward landing on my face. I groaned as I turned around to face the striker.

"What the hell Jake?" I asked rubbing my head.

"Why would you do that to her? Huh! I am surprised your not celebrating right now!" He shouted with anger.

"I didn't do that to her. I mean, the skin stuff yes but it wasn't on purpose. Your misunderstanding what happened." I replied trying to calm him down.

"No. I understand perfectly." He started storming towards me but a familiar face came and stopped him in his place by putting a hand on this shoulder.

"That is enough of that Jake. Now Seth, I think it is best if we had a little chat." Said Apollo.

I nodded and stood up brushing the dirt off my pants. Jake gave me a snarl and stomped away cursing underneath his breath.

We walked into the main building and into Apollo's office. I have never been in here, the only time someone really comes in here is if they are in trouble.

"Take a seat." Said Apollo.
