Hanging thoughts

The adrenaline pumping though me was screaming at me to get out and run free. Ice began to form bellow my feet making me smile ear to ear.

I ran out of my cabin leaving the door open and jumped into pillars of ice my feet where forming beneath me.

Everything was happening so fast, one minute I was weak and now I feel incredibly empowered.

"You said that the necklace would give me power." I mumbled.

'You are smart my child.' The voice said.

I continued to run away from my cabin and past the other houses to the woods to get the energy out. My lungs would normally be on fire running at this speed, but I felt completely fine.

I kept running until I reached the lake. I was about to turn around until I saw the ice extend freezing a small part of the water.

I took another step forwards and the ice extended again. I kept walking forward and soon picked it up to a jogging pace.

Running across the river I felt alive as energy continued pulsing through me.

Jake's POV:

"Rital. She is gone." I said.

I went to check on her in the morning and her bed was empty. I asked the nurses where she was and they had no idea. I ran up to her cabin to find ice all over the ground.

"What do you mean she is gone?" Evan said nervously.

"We can't find her." I replied.

A young camper ran up from behind the weapons shed. "The entire lake is frozen over!" She exclaimed.

Seth, Evan, and I exchanged glances and ran down to the lake shore. "She could be anywhere." Seth said looking out into the deep woods across from the lake.

Apollo marched down and stood behind us. "I understand your concern boys. But for now you need to get back to training. I don't want any complaints." He said.

"Yes sir." We chanted and walked back to the training grounds.

All the anger I had bottled up inside me was pushing me to punch Seth in the face. He burnt Rital to a crisp and that is unforgivable.

We all grabbed our swords and continued to duel other campers.

Though we were all distracted because of the hanging thought over are heads. Where is Rital?

Rital's POV:

After a while my energy level began to subside and I was out of breath. I rested my back on a tree and slowly sat down. I felt a gust of wind dash past me causing my hair to fly in front of my face.

'That is trouble calling.' I thought. I really didn't want to fight any monsters that possibly patrolled near by. Plus, I wasn't in the shape to do so anyways.

I slowly jogged our of the woods to the lake. It was still frozen over with a thick layer of snow covering it.

I stepped on the ice and continued to walk across the lake. Once I reached the shore, I levitated my hand on the frozen water and the ice and snow disappeared. A small smile spread across my face as I brought my hands back to my chest.

I peered over the back of the mess hall and looked towards the training grounds. I saw demigods dueling each other making me reach for my pocket to find my pen.

'Not there.' I thought. 'Must be in my cabin.'

I started walking towards my cabin when I saw 2 daughters of Aphrodite gossiping. I sneaked past them and continued to walk forward minding my own business when heard one of the girls say my name. Curious, I turned around and hide behind the weapons shed to hear their conversation.

"Crazy, her being in a coma and then being missing. I heard she was kidnapped."

"No way. Then how is the lake frozen over? She probably left and went back to her mother or something."

"Whatever let's go."

Once they walked away I stood stiff in confusion. 'A coma?' I thought.

I didn't even realize that I woke up in a medical room and I began to shiver. I slid down the wooden wall and layer on the floor and my emotions began to spike.

'Not here.' I thought. I stood up and tried to compose myself and tried to think about how I would go about this. 'Just go to Apollo.'

The clashes of swords took over my ears and a smirk appeared on my face. I went around the weapons closet and grabbed a protection mask that covered my entire face. I picked out a sharp copper sword and walked towards the training grounds.

My eyes immediately were drawn to Jake who looked like he was fighting for his life.

I gazed upon the rest of the campers trying to find Seth. Once I did, I noticed the look of concern on his face as he looked around the camp.

I trotted over to him with my identity still unknown, and slashed the ground challenging him.

He accepted my challenge and we started off aggressively. He got a few swings in but couldn't slash me. I lightly slashed his cheek and we continued dueling.

Seth's POV:

I was dueling who I thought was a new camper since he or she had a protection mask. But from the way they fought you could tell her/his experience level was pretty high.

The though of Rital flooded my head giving the person a milli-second of my vulnerability. His/her copper sword's tip was pointed at my neck forcing me to surrender.

"Who are you." I asked intrigued.

As the masked fighter removed her mask my jaw dropped to the ground.
