Lans's Secret Hideout(2)

Going through each busy and empty streets, finally they arrived in one area that was completely isolated from other busy roads.

Lans used the control pad inside the car to opens the garage door and drove the car inside. The garage door automatically closed again after Lans pressed the same control button.

"Alright, you can get off!"

Lans walked out from the car followed by Lexi. Lexi moved her heads around to observes her surroundings. This garage was wide enough and Lexi finally realized that there are two more cars inside Lans's garage.

Seeing there are other cars inside the garage, Lexi suddenly become curious on why Lans keep this cars here. Since this world focused on Car Racing, Lexi thought that Lans might want to participated in the Deadly Car Racing. Why would you keep this cars if not for that deadly game?

"You... You want to be a Racer?" Lexi shots Lans a curios glance.

Lans, who was making coffee with the coffee machine on the table, turned his head at Lexi. When he heard her question, he only give her a form of smile. But with just this smile already confirms Lexi's curious thought.

Lexi took a seat on an old metal stool and start to asked another question. "How long did you participate in this game?"

Lans walked toward Lexi and hands over the mug of coffee that he made. He then walked toward a large table with many computer systems on it with another mug of his own coffee.

"I haven't participate in any tournaments yet," he replied. He didn't looked at Lexi as he busied himself with his own work.

Lexi furrowed her eyebrows more. 'Haven't participate yet?'

Seeing how quiet Lexi after he answered, Lans knows what she is going to ask next. So, before she opened her mouth to ask, Lans already saying the answer she want to know.

"I haven't participate yet because I haven't found my reliable team yet. Once I found teams that I want, I will build my own team in the game."

Lexi opened her mouth, both in awe and dumbstruck. She have a hunch that Lans would always knew what she would ask even though she haven't speak yet. But everytime she tried to ask, Lans would always be a step ahead to answer her as if Lans could really read her mind or anything.

But then Lexi didn't focused her mind on that matter and instead she was interested in the matter where Lans want to build his own team for the Deadly Car Racing.

"You want to join the game? So, which role will you take... Racer? Fighter? Guardian?"

Lans still immersed in his job when Lexi asked him. Even though he seems busy, his mind still can focused on every Lexi's question. "I'm not very good at fighting in the Racing Territory. Besides, my profession only suitable behind the scene."

Lexi touched her chin with her fingers and thinking for a moment. "Behind the scenes? It's either as the Hacker, Mechanic or Paramedics."

Lexi turned her head toward Lans again and saw that Lans was very fond of computer. "Ahh, you want to be the Hacker?"

"Right, being a Hacker also a good role. I can see that this role also suitable for you."

Lans gave her a 'I-know' face before he immersed into his own work again.

"Oh, right. What is this place anyway? Is this where you always spend your everyday time?" Lexi stood up from the metal stool and take a stroll around the garage as if she was strolling in some kind of shopping mall.

"This place is one of my secret hideout. No one knows about this place... Except you because I just brought you here today. No worries, even the strongest forces couldn't find this place. We are totally fine here."

"You mean, you have other secret hideouts? How come you can have so much hiding places?" Lexi, who was observing one of Lans's project gave him a quick glance.

"Uh-huh. Having only one secret hideout won't give you any safe place so I build another hiding place in some other place."

Lexi looked at Lans again and with some serious expressions, she said, "Looks like you really believe me that much. You didn't hesitate to tell me about your hiding place at all. Aren't you afraid that I would do anything to you?"

Lans's fingers on the keyboard stops for a second and he looked at Lexi with an unreadable face. "I told you about my hiding place because I know you would never do anything. Besides, you can't never do anything to me. I can easily crush you whenever and however I want to if you dare to do anything." After he said that, he turned his attention to the computer again.

Upon hearing the answer which completely make Lexi feels speechless, Lexi touched her heart with a hurt face. "Ouch, reality is really harsh."

Lans didn't put her action in his mind as he knows Lexi was just only acting.

They stay quiet for a moment before Lexi start to talk again. "I also thinking to build my own team for the game. How about we join forces and build our own team? I don't know anyone here and don't know whoever the best for the role of our team's member, I think if we join together, we can find the rest of the members."

Lans looked at Lexi and once again stopped his work. "How can I convinced by you to joined forces together?"

Lexi pursed her lips. 'Come on, man. I'm someone with great talented. I can do anything if I put my mind into it and surely this Deadly Car Racing is something that I have to tried. You really wouldn't regret it later.'

"I can drive any car and have my own strength to fight. In another word, I can be a Racer or Fighter in our team. Besides, I have other talent that I can used outside the game."

"What talent?"

Lexi pondering for a moment. In truth, she has many talent in herself that no one could do at the same time like she do. But that was when she was still in the 21st century. When she was in here and with the addition of the advanced technologies, she didn't have that much confident anymore because everyone can do anything with the help of the machine.

Once again, Lans know what was going on in her mind. "I don't care about your other talents. It would just a mere of times for me to know about it... But I don't see the reason why I should refuse you."

Hearing that, a wide yet proud grin shown on her face. She happily clapped her hands once and said, "Right, Lans. You should be more sensible and agreed to my request."

"But let me ask you a question."

"What is it?"

"Did you ever have any experience being a Racer?"

That question makes Lexi being a sceptical for a long time. She want to answer yes but at the same time her mind said no.

It is not like she doesn't has any experience. Her body might has experienced it but her soul hasn't. After all, Lexi just arrived here yesterday. Where would she have the time to participate in any game without any team?

"No or yes?" Lans asked once again without breaking the gaze between them.

Lexi scratched her forehead with her index finger. "I don't have that much experience but I can assured you that I was a very professional racer. Besides, being a racer is my favourite hobby before."

What she said isn't something that she exaggerated. She meant what she said that she is a very professional racer. Why? It is because, back there in the 21st century, she is a street car racer and also participate in some professional car international sports. She also made a glorious victory back there and some people are already recognised her as a good racer.

Even though she only regard this as a hobby, she still doing her best to be the top person. After all, who doesn't like to lose, right?

But if it wasn't for her to lost interest in the hobby and stop from being a professional car racer, she might already become popular like any other artists right now.

And now, she still have that much confidence to be the best Racer in this Deadly Car Racing.
