Theories

The look in the eyes of the three monsters was drilled into my brain as I went back inside. That burning passion was frightening, almost to the point that I didn't know whether or not I would be able to sleep tonight. I couldn't help but feel like they were going to do something horribly reckless and dangerous but I couldn't figure out what it was. I wondered if they were testing our blood to see what can hurt us, or if they were trying to find a way to stop us from changing, maybe a way to make us change permanently. some of the things I considered made no sense, but some weren't too far-fetched. I considered the possibility that they might try to turn us indefinitely and use whatever weaknesses they found to try and enslave us. But that was too roundabout for a militant force like them, the training, the serum, the inability to have complete control, the inability to know the exact thoughts of the beasts that they would be using for their own gain. I thought about whether they might try to cure the werewolves and eliminate them once and for all and honestly I don't mind the idea of that one. Although the look in their eyes was too sinister, too viscous for such a situation to be the case. Once we all got into the house we began to discuss our fears of that look. We could all see the evil in their smiles. My brother Anthony came up with the only theory that we knew we were 100 percent safe from. Anthony's theory was that they were trying to figure out how to turn themselves into werewolves so that their strength would always in some way be stronger than the werewolves they fought against. Jacen was quick to assure us that they couldn't do something like that. Several wars had been fought by werewolves and vampires and blood from both creatures would be consumed by both sides amid the storm of battle. Werewolves seemed to be completely immune to vampirism, on the other hand, if a vampire was to drink too much werewolf's blood they would die because for some reason their bodies couldn't handle it. Small amounts didn't hurt them too badly only causing them to get sick as they couldn't digest it. The idea was probably one of the worst outcomes because even if we were to become supernatural slaves fighting for the vampires we would at least be alive, whereas if they were to make a hybrid between the two there would be no real way to stop them from killing every one of the werewolves in existence. Weapons against us can have countermeasures set up against them, but if you were to multiply the natural strength of a vampire by the amount of strength given to a werewolf in its werewolf state, there would be practically nothing that could possibly stop such a powerful existence. I was glad that Jacen was there to put our minds at ease about that, but it still left us with nothing to go on. There weren't any clues as to what was being planned, only that there was a plan in the works. After a long discussion about the possible plans the vampires had we all decided to go to bed, Jacen went home and we made our nightly round through the house making sure that all of the doors and windows were locked lights were off and dad checked the thermostat just to make sure no-one had messed with it even though he somehow seems to know every time someone even looks at it. Mom calls it his fatherly instincts, but I don't know about all that. I lay in bed wondering what will come of my decision, and how will it affect my family. I wonder if I was too anxious about the situation, was I even the right person to be making it, what would my grandfather even say if he knew that there were vampires to begin with? I closed my eyes and began to dream of the atrocious events of an unknown future. I saw my family forced into their werewolf state permanently, being tortured into submission by the laughing vampires. I saw them put in chains being walked like dogs by other creatures that were designed by the vampires to kill, unable to act of their own free will. I then began to dream about Marcus when I saw him in the hospital. The fear in his eyes when he heard his name and what he said as he disappeared. What was his fault? Was he talking about him being turned? Was he talking about how grandpa had just disappeared? Did he do something? I had so many questions that I will never be able to get the answers to unless I found him again. I dreamed that he was trying to explain but his words were all muffled, impossible to put any real meaning to. All I could get was It's all my fault, it's all my fault. I knew that there was something wrong with him, but I couldn't get him to say it. All I could do was hug him and try to remind him of who he was and how strong he was as an individual. but no matter what I did he would continue, "It's all my fault, it's all my fault." I tried giving him some time to breathe but it never changed he continued the same way and anything else just came out as inaudible, nonsense. Then it hit me, what if he knows what happened to grandpa and just hasn't said anything. What if he was too scared to say anything, what if he just couldn't say anything because of where we were, what if he was trying to infiltrate the vampires, and if so was grandpa just away for all of this time because he was trying to help Marcus?
