Double Jinx, Those Killer Babies Chapter 7

The three of them made their way to the master bedroom, where her mother and father usually slept. The bedroom door was ajar, and multiple people could be seen inside.

Three maids she didnt know, Roseminda, a male in nice clothes that was not her father, who had a old time physician's case on a table next to him. So, he was a doctor she presumed.

A neighboring plantation owners sister who was similar to her mother in age and who she heard was her mothers close friend and apparant cousin by marriage.

And her eldest half brother Alard(from fathers previous marriage), who was 10 or 11. She couldnt remember his exact age.

Along with her sister Martha.

The older maid gestured for Beatrice to bring Miriam into the room, and so she did so.

The old maid closed the door behind her.

After entertaining the room Miriam noticed her mother lay on the bed with a massive pool of blood underneath her. It was still coming out fro. her nether regions but the most garnish scene was her belly which had been cut open. Seeing no babies inside, Miriam was quite confused, but she knew a cesarean birth was basically a death sentence in theaw times.

And sure enough her mother was barely breathing.

The woman she assumed was the midwife had one small baby wrapped tightly in a cloth so that their gender was undecernable. Upon further inspection of the rest of the room a baby was being held by one maid in the corner and another remained motionless on the table by the doctor.

Rosminda also had a baby in her hands, who upen listening carefully was making small noises.

What.The.Fuck. Her mother had four babies.

Open looking carefully at the baby on the table that the doctor was examining she could see it was a girl but she was pale and looked like she was having trouble breathing.

The doctor was trying his best but the rising of the little chest stopped within a minute of of the three of them entering the room.

Martha was trying her best to hold in her tears at the foot of their mothers bed.

Alard looked at her hesitantly before patting her on the back a little bit.

Rosminda gave the baby in her hands to the doctor, and when she did Miriam saw that they were a boy since the cloth wasn't wrapped around him completely breathing steadily.

Rosminda reached her hands out to Beatrice, upon which beatrice just looked at her with a frown for a few seconds, before understanding that she wanted her to hand Miriam over.

Blushing ever so slightly Beatrice handed Miriam over and after doing so Rosminda said "You can go wait outside the door."

Rice girl then walked out of the room in a much boring fashion just like usual and carefully shut the door behind her.

The old maid asked Rosminda "What are we naming the fourth and fifth young master?"

Rosminda looked at Alard and he blanched for a minute before saying to the room full of people "George?"

"This one is George Stephen Stuart then, we shall give him your fathers name as a middle name. The first baby boy was named Edgar Brent Reiner Stuart with accordance to Lady Genevieve's wishes."

"Amy, go take Edgar to the newest nursery we prepared and stay with him, Emma, go tell Mauve she is going to be the wet nurse for Edgar, and to itmeditely make herself presentable and to head to the new nursery we prepared. Also tell Beatrice waiting outside to go tell a house maid that she and the other nearest maid need go get Alards and Abigails old cribs out of the second storage room and to clean it off.

Put them both cribs in the 5th guest room and tell them to get the slave Alabastar and Baraka from the domestic slave quarters to help the maids move the cribs and any other heavy lifting since this matter is time sensitive.

Also tell Beatrice she is to head to the 5th guestroom after relaying the message and to begin baby proofing it and removing any dangerous and undeeded items from the room."

Rosminda gasped for breath after giving so many orders that it left her winded and held up her hand for a second before continueing,

"Emma after you have finished telling the other maids what to do, go to tell a page boy to deliver this letter to Brock the man with an eyepatch at the plantation Stables and he is to tell him "2 Boys."

Then I want you to return to your other normal duties."

The older maid look at the doctor and asked, "Is George Healthy Dr Lance?"

The doctor looked up from the baby he was examining and nodded his head before saying "Pulse is steady all looks good just like Edgar was."

After saying this he picks up the baby, wraps it back in the cloth it had on when it was handed to him and gave it to the back to Rosminda.

Rosminda handed him to the old maid.

Emma and Amy had left the room.

The old maid looked at Martha and and Alard and looked at Rosminda before stepped foward and grabbing Martha by the hand and telling Alard "Time to go, you've said your goodbyes for now."

Alard looked at his beautiful but pale step mother one more time, before steeling his heart once again and turning on his heel to make his way out of the room with the old maid who dragged Martha out.

Once they had left the room, Rosminda looked at the last maid and said "Was her half brothers offer still valid?"

The maid lookee nervously at the doctor and the midwife before Rosminda nodded her in assurance that it was okay to speak.

The maid cleared her throat, before saying, "Yes he very much wanted a son born of your mother's womb so he had a legitimate heir."

Rosminda looked at the doctor and the doctor nodded.

Rosminda let out a barely audible sigh, and set baby Miriam on the bed next to her mothers dead body, who in Miriams mind kind of looked like one of those space aliens had burst out of her. Except in the belly region instead of the chest region.

Rosminda sighed and took the baby from the midwifes arms gently before opening the cloth the were so tightly wrapped in to reveal a baby boy.

The maid and the doctor looked at each other and exchanged a knowing look amongst one another before saying "Mr. Graf thanks you on behalf of his step father and the Graf family Ancestors."

They these followed these heartfelt words up with a small bow.

"Do you have the baby body?" Rosminda cut straight to the point.

The doctor flinched for a moment before going over to his physicians case, and oremoving his tools from the top of it and revealing a compartment in the bottom of it by pulling a recently deceased white baby girl out from the bag.

Miriams mind was racing around in circles trying to figure out was was going on here, until she thinks she understood what was happening.

Afterall, noone would think a baby would notice a plot afoot.
