The Room

The girl lifted her heavy eyelids and tried to look around her surroundings. She was in an empty room with a dim light, but she couldn't tell where it was coming from. There were no lightbulbs or windows anywhere, it seemed that the room itself was releasing a faint glow. She rose up on her feet to try and feel the walls, the rough, brick like texture gently scraping her skin. She looked around the room for an exit, but to no avail. She felt around some more before ultimately giving up. She decided that this would be a good time to try and remember anything at all, and she sat down. No matter how hard she thought, the farthest she could recall was waking up under the oak tree. Pressing her brain for further information, she remembered the woman who had somehow knocked her out. She wondered who this mysterious person was, and why she had lured her into a trap. Then, she realized that she hadn't called out to anyone for help, "Hello?" She heard her own voice for the first time, "Where am I?" She asked, "Who am I?" She said in a hushed voice, seemingly more to herself than to her captor.

"Good question," came a voice from right beside her, "I can show you if you'd like."

The girl jumped and lifted her head. Her blue haired friend was standing above her with a sly smile, "Oh, it's you." Began the girl, now concerned for her safety, "How'd you get in here, there's no door..."

"Oh, it's just hidden by a simple illusion spell." She said casually, as if it were common knowledge.

"A what now?" Asked the girl in surprise.

"Ya know, an illusion spell. They use em' to hide stuff."

The girl looked up at her, still confused, "Well anyways, why did you bring me here?"

"Well there was a cute girl wandering in the forest unguarded, I would have been dumb to miss that opportunity."

The girl blushed at this, even though she was not able to recall what she looked like, "Isn't that illegal though? You can't just snag people off the streets, can you?"

"Huh?" The woman asked, "What world do you come from where that's not common practice? You're lucky it was me who picked you up instead of some perverted old brute." She said matter-o-factly. When the girl still looked confused she said, "It's a free for all, if you're stronger than someone, you can just take them or their stuff. I'm stronger than you, therefore I have taken ownership of your pretty face." She ruffled the girl's hair gently, "You can leave, or take revenge when you can beat me." She smiled gently as if she were talking to a child, "Anyways, what's your name?"

"Umm, I don't remember." She looked up at the woman who seemed even more pleased by this.

"Wait, really?"-the girl shook her head-"So I get to name you?"

"Hey, I'm not your dog..." said the girl without even thinking.

"But I'm your owner, so I can do whatever I'd like."

"Well, you don't really own me, do you?"

"That's how the world works. Now, I'll show you around my house, and I'll think of a name." She flicked her fingers, and suddenly the room completely changed. There were several small windows, and one old looking door. The woman pulled the girl over, and gently creaked it open.
