The Moor Jumper

"What's that?" Asked Wren curiously.

"Oh, him?" Fiore pointed to a small, green, rabbit-like creature.

"Yeah, what is he? I've never seen anything like that before."

"Well, his name is Trefle, and he's a moor jumper. He's my summoned spirit."

"I didn't get half of that. What's a moor jumper, and what in the heck is a summoned spirit?"

"A moor jumper is a pretty common animal around here, I don't know why you wouldn't know that." She paused and looked over Wren questioningly, "And, a summoned spirit is an ancient spirit that takes the form of an animal based on your personality."

"Oh, so like a spirit animal but for real?"

"Yes…? I don't know what you mean."

"Just forget it." Wren knew that Fiore hadn't heard of most of the things she had brought up from wherever she came from.

"I was actually thinking about teaching you how to summon one, so you're not bored when I'm out."

Wren's eyes sparkled in excitement, "Really?

"I was actually considering today, since I'm free." Fiore ruffled Wren's hair playfully.

"That's so cool, I wonder what I'm gonna get!"

"I have to go get the supplies for the ritual, wanna come?"

"Wait, you're letting me join?" Wren asked, wondering why Fiore was giving her such an easy way out.

"Well, I'm going to put a charm on you of sorts. If you get more that ten feet from me, you'll instantly be teleported back to my side."

"Oh."

"Don't look so disappointed, we're going shopping for you after all."

Wren's eyes lit up again, "Oh yeah, this is gonna be so cool!"

"That's what I thought!" Fiore clicked her tongue, before grabbing a necklace from the nearby desk, "Put this on, it's already enchanted with the charm I need."

"Okay." Wren admired the gold chain, and the small, murky amulet, before slipping it over her head. She instantly felt a slight tug towards Fiore. She tried reaching the necklace, but her hands wouldn't let her touch it, "Is this part of the charm too?"

"Yeah, it just makes sure that you won't be able to yank it off and run." Fiore grabbed a small bag, and Trefle hopped onto her shoulder, "You coming?"

"Yeah, but I want to try the teleport thing, so go outside." Wren waited for Fiore to exit, and then it happened. The tug on her necklace became greater, and greater, before suddenly disappearing altogether. Then she blinked and appeared right beside Fiore outside, "Woah."

"It's pretty cool, right?" Wren nodded in agreement, and followed Fiore into the crowded marketplace ahead of them.
