Aftermath

A few days had passed and in the aftermath of the battle that happened in Akane's mindscape, a few things had happened in the real world as well. In correspondence to the removal of Ymir Reiss and the centipede, the walls around the cities of Paradise island had suddenly collapsed.

The titans that had been hidden inside of them had vanished, leaving only the few bricks that remain of the wall on the ground.

The titans that had been spread beyond Wall Rose had disappeared as well, leaving a score of confused people in their place. It was truly a sight to see a sea of people suddenly arriving in nothing but clothing made from plants.

The face Erwin had made was entertaining, as his eyes had a constant twitch to them as he worked late into the night with the other remaining higher-ups.

It was even more difficult handling the situation, as the garrisons responsible for the people within the walls were in an uproar. The royal family, nobles and more than half of the commanding personnel was gone. No trace of the perpetrators had been found, as the only odd thing was the strangely empty mansions, where the silver, gold and gems were nowhere to be found.

None of this was any concern to Akane though, as she was enjoying the sight in front of her.

She was currently lounging on the remaining debris that was the wall that seperated the mainland from the sea. In front of her was her ship, floating on the waves, while in the distance she witnessed the arrival of mutiple ships, all donning the red flag of the revolutionary army.

Standing on the bow of the leading ship, a familiar blonde head was see, as he waved in the direction of Akane.

"AKANE!"

"Sabo!"

Laughing loudly, Akane and Sabo waved with sily smiles on their faces as they waited for the ship to get closer. Next to Sabo, Koala was crouching down, her face buried in her hands as she had already given up on Sabo.

"Oooi! Sabo! This way! The water is deeper around here!"

With a few helpful directions, the ships were safely anchored as the revolutionary army arrived on the shore. Besides Sabo and Koala, a few more familiar figures were seen. Bello Betty, Hack and even Dragon had come.

"Akane, its been so long since I've seen you!"

Sabo rushed forward as he beamed at her.

"It really has been a while Sabo. Have you heard about Ace? He even got a nickname. Firefist Ace. It has a nice ring to it."

Sabo shook his head as he shook his finger.

"That isn't all. It seems the news Coo hasn't arrived here yet. Ace became a member of the Whitebeard pirates not too long ago. It really makes you wonder what Ace is even thinking."

Sabo shook his head, but that didn't diminish the cheeky grin on his face from widening.

"Sabo. Catch up on that later. Work first."

Dragon butted in as he looked around.

"It really is a new island."

Dragon muttered.

"Yeah, I'm not going too much into the details, but they need to power up a lot, especially since they are positioned in the new world. The sea around the island pretty much is a natural barrier against massive invasions, but it is still passable. Besides, the current leadership of the island, Queen Historia Reiss and her minister Erwin Smith, have accepted the proposal of establishing a base of the Revolutionary Army here in exchange for information and training."

Shrugging, Akane walked forward, as carriages were waiting in front of them. There weren't nearly enough, but not all of them were coming along. Only Dragon, Sabo and Bello Betty were coming.

Koala and Hack were staying, as they needed to watch over the ships and set up a base camp.

The carriages moved along slowly, as the day slowly passed. They made a short stop at the Shigansha district, as the devastation of the past titan attack was laid bare to see. The sheer size of the destruction was unimaginable.

The sight had quieted them, as the rest of the journey continued in silence, the leadership of the Revolutionaries deep in thought.

Eventually they finally arrived at the Stohess district, where they were greeted by a crowd. In the front were Erwin, Levi, Pixis and Historia. Behind them were a few members of the scout regimen, such as Armin, Hange, Mikasa and Eren. A few others as well, but Akane hadn't even bothered to remember their names.

"Welcome to the Stohess district. As there is still much to be taken care of, our welcome is limited to the people currently here. I am Erwin Smith, an advisor of the Queen, Historia Reiss. The other man next to the Queen is commander Pixis."

"I am Dragon, leader of the Revolutionary Army. Beside me is my right hand man, Sabo. The woman to my left is a commander called Bello Betty. Let's get straight to business, shall we?"

Dragon replied, shaking hands with Erwin as he and the others were led further inside the city.

Leaving them to their own devices, Akane let them be and joined up with her crew, who were currently getting to know Dazai Osamu, a rather peculiar man to say the least.

Making her way through the city, Akane arrived at an abandoned warehouse. While the outside looked more than a little scary, as well as dilapidated, the boisterous laughter heard from inside said otherwise.

Stepping through the doors, Akane was greeted by the sight of Dazai firmly planted beneath Shinobu's feet.

"What is so off putting about a wonderful double suicide? The wooden beams here would be perfect to tie a knotted rope to. It would be wonderful to be accompanied by a pretty lady."

Dazai mumbled, as the foot on his face seemed to increase in force.

"Oh my, then I suggest you ask Ban about it. He is a wonderful advisor for such things. He has tried a lot of ways to die. I am not interested in cutting my own life short."

Shinobu had her wonderful smile painted on again. Akane watched on from the side, as Ban cheered it all on from the side. The rest of her crew seemed to be absent, as Soren and Lafitte were nowhere to be found.

"Little Fox~ The new guy is a bit of an oddball."

Ban yelled from the side.

Shinobu immediately ceased what she was doing, stepping towards Akane and pulled her away to one of the few pairs of chairs available.

"How did it go, Akane?"

"Sabo and the rest safely arrived. It seems the Revolutionary Army will have a new base here soon. It is a perfect stronghold in the new world, especially since it is situated close to the red line."

Akane commented, looking at Dazai as he sat down on the ground, happily smiling as if his face hadn't been planted in the ground a few seconds ago.

"Now then, have you decided on what to do, Dazai?"

"Getting back, of course! There doesn't seem to be any pleasant ways to die here. Nor is there any pretty lady to accompany me on that journey."

Dazai theatrically shook his head, followed by a sudden glint in the eye.

"Why don't you commit double suicide with me, Akane-san? We just need to find the best way to do it that would suit us both."

"I refuse."

The proposal was met with a firm refusal.

"Now then, since you want to go back, I suggest you stay with us for a while. I'm partially responsible for this, so naturally I will send you back as well. In the meantime, you should find some way to make yourself useful to my crew. Being powerless is a death sentence in the new world."

Akane stated, as she made eye contact with Dazai.

"I am more than capable to protect myself. I am an excellent shot."

"Welcome to the crew then, I suppose?"

"More than happy to join! Let's find a nice way to die together, right Akane-san?"

Dazai said as he shook hands with her, a goofy smile on his face.

Shaking his hands, Akane soon felt herself become weaker.

Reaching out to her head, her fox ears were suddenly gone, as her usually golden hair had taken on a crimson red color, her original hair color.

"I also have an ability, 'No longer human' that will cancel any supernatural ability, if it makes contact with my skin. Once more, nice to meet you, Akane-san."

Dazai smirked, twirling his fingers in a teasing manner.
