first day of school, and the embarrassment

Waking up Alene looked around, it seemed her roommates were still asleep. At the end of her bed was Oppi curled up, he seemed to still be sleeping. Moving her body up softly into sitting position Alene turned her legs to dangle at the left side of the bed.

brushing her hands against her eyes in the hopes that it would wake her up. Eventually, Alene grabbed her wand and casted a spell her mother taught her and James right before they left for Hogwarts. "Tempus," she softly said.

Alene's eyes sparkle at the soft glow being illuminated from the spell. The time spell revealed that it was 6:30 and since they as first years had to appear earlier than other students at 8:00 in the morning to be exact so that they could receive their schedule to pack their school bags and have little time to explore and get used to the castle.

Filling her white woollen slippers, Alene got out of bed and softly opened her trunk. Inside were her books, candies and clothes. Picking her Gryffindor robes and with her white sock which had the Potter emblem stitched on it.

Walking as softly as she could she entered the bathroom and turned on the shower. Washing her hair with her calming lavender shampoo and conditioner. Lastly, grabbing her citrus scrub made to be her father. It was supposed to make the wearer have the soft smell of citrus.

Drying herself and her hair, she put her robes. Pulling her black hair strands into a half updo, Looking in the mirror the hairs were wavy at the ends. Satisfied she added a little lip balm so that her lips won't get dry during the day.

Picking up her wand from the sink Alene whispered "Tempus" it was 7:06, seeing she was finished getting ready she walked back in the room where all the girls were still asleep. Seeing the sun already up Alene softly waked up the other girls one by one so that they could get ready.

She started with those closest by which were Mary MacDonald, then Dorcas Meadows, after that was Alice Fortescue then Lily and lastly Marlene. All the girls seemed to rush right after each other as they only had one hour.

While all the girl were rushing Alene calmly picked up Oppi and gave him his breakfast. Oppi had bad reactions from eating the food made by the Magical Menagerie. Alene's mother made different kinds of treats for the cat which he seemed to enjoy immensely.

After Oppi was done with eating nearly all the girls were done, Alene checked the time again and saw that it was 7:45. Picking up her wand she asked the girls if they wanted to leave. Marlene who came hopping out of the bathroom trying to put on her sock screamed "Wait for me!! I am nearly done!" after five more minutes of waiting the walked to the Main Hall.

Because she did not see James in the common room she assumed he was either asleep or already running around the castle. Signing Alene shook her head, she promised she would look after James but sometimes even as his twin it was just hard to face his childishness.

Her mother used to make jokes all the time about how James was just childish because Alene took all the seriousness cell inside the womb.

Now reaching the main hall the walked to the Gryffindor table, sitting somewhere in the middle they were greeted by other first years and some people in the older years who like to wake up earlier.

Alene started making strawberry and banana toast when her head of house Professor McGonagall came by their table to hand out schedules. "Here you go Ms Potter, would you also give this schedule to your brother. It seems he's late," Alene felt her ears turn red due to embarrassment.

She gave a weak nod and looked at her schedule

Now looking at the schedule of James she saw that it was the same. Speaking of James, he stormed in the Main Hall with Sirius, Remus and Peter. They all had flushed faces like they had run a marathon and both James and Peter were missing clothing items such as socks and their cloaks.

James walked over to the table with his new-made friends and casually sat down next to Alene as if nothing happened. Alene rolled her eyes and handed him his schedule as she tried to fix his hair which was a big mess. To James and Alene the routine was normal he ate and she fixed his hair which was always a mess.

Alene could only make it stand in place and be less messy because of years of practice. After finishing breakfast Alene quickly went to get her books for the first day and ran down to the dungeons to try and find the potions lab. Alene just came rushing down the stairs when she hit her face headfirst against someone.

Falling to the ground Alene felt a shot of pain go through her lower back. Although it hurt it was not long-lasting pain. Alene sat up and looked at the person she bumped into, seeing it was Severus she did not know of she was more relieved that it was someone she knew or more horrified.

Quickly standing up and grabbing her bookbag she walked over to his side and helped him pick up all the stuff that fell out of his bag. "I am so sorry Severus," in response to her apology he just grunted and said "It's fine to let's just get to class," Alene nodded and rushed to the potion classroom.

She was practically the only one there besides some Slytherin and Gryffindors she did not know. However, after seeing a familiar redhead in the front Alene quickly sat next to her. When Lily turned her way she smiled but awkwardly coughed as she said "Sorry Alene, but I promised to sit next to Severus for potions."

Feeling even more embarrassed Alene just smiled and responded with "Oh sorry I didn't know I'll just go sit there in the middle." and walked away as quickly as possible especially after she realized Severus was right behind her when she was talking to Lily.

Plopping her head on the desk she heard someone shuffle next to her. "Hey Alene I hope you do not mind me sitting next to you," Dorcas said with a slight smile. "It's no problem I am actually glad you sat next to me!"

Alene immediately confessed about what had happened that morning and how she bumped into Severus and also took his spot in from of his nose. After talking for a while, It seemed that the first class of the day was finally starting as James entered with his friends right before their potions Professor Slughorn.
