Welcome to the dorm

After her sorting Alene sat next to James and across from Lily, who seemed to have made a bunch of new friends. Alene joined in on the fun and met a bunch of different people. She ended up making quite a few friends but as it got later and her stomach was filled, Headmaster Dumbledore gave a final speech about things we were not allowed to do.

Things that Alene knew her brother would do a 100%. Shaking her head she followed the prefect to the dorms. As they climbed the moving staircases. Alene was standing next to a girl she had been talking with at dinner her name is Marlene McKinnon and all Alene could say about her personality till now is that it is interesting.

Marlene had strong opinions and in a way reminded her of female Sirius Black. Except she thought Marlene was way more likeable because she had a lot of intelligent facts to back up her arguments. Which to Alene made everything she said worth listening to.

Also, Marlene might have called James a bonehead for trying to steal her special candies. Marlene kept talking to her about how good her candies were after she tried them. Even now as they were walking to the dorms she did not seem to shut up.

"Aleneeee~ do you think that if I marry you, you could make me these sweets every single day?!" Alene giggled and said "If we are both singles by the time we are 45 I might consider it" Marlene laughed out loud. "That's a deal sweetheart," Marlene said with a wink.

Stopped walking as they reached the entrance to the common room. House Prefect Cecilia Hudson looked at all of them at tried to get everyone's attention by screaming over the noise. "ATTENTION EVERYONE, ATTENTION HERE" as everyone started quietly down she explained how they had a different password every month and that they were not allowed to tell people from other classes.

She then turned to the door and said "Piggysnout" and the door opened with a murmured complaint made by the fat lady in the portrait, about the disrespect.

Alene walked in with Marlene to the middle of the common room. There was a big fireplace surrounded by couches and big chairs which you could sit in. Alene's eyes directed straight to the heft maroon chair right by the fireplace. Next to the chair was a small coffee table, which was just big enough for a scroll next to a small book.

Prefect Cecilia stood between to stairs one on the left and one of right. "Hello first years, we are now inside the common room. The stairs on the left are for the boys and the right is for the girls. Is that understood?" There were some soft murmuring replies. "Good. I am here for you to ask any questions too. There is also male Prefect Jackson Pierce which you can ask questions to if I am unavailable or if you are more comfortable to ask him. Now up to bed"

Marlene took Alene's hand and pulled her along to the dorms upstairs. After looking at most of the names on the dorms. They reached a room third from being the last on the left row and look at the nameplate attached.

"Yes, we are in the same dorm!" Marlene exclaimed and rushed inside. It seemed they were the first ones. Alene picked the bed near the long lean window and Marlene picked the one next to her with only a nightstand and a little leg space to separate the two.

~BOOM~ Both Alene and Marlen looked up from their bed and checked the end of the bed. Her trunk was there with her cat Oppi. Alene had nearly forgotten all about her stuff. She quickly put her book 'Magical drafts and Potions' on the nightstand.

Marlene was already looking through her trunk seemly looking for something. Alene just grabbed Oppi's cage and opened it. The lazy cat softly walked over to Alene and just up to her shoulders where she rested. Alene gave a soft giggle and started looking for her clothes so she could put them in the big closet she and Marlene would have to share.

As Alene was busy filling half of the closet with her clothes she heard a knock on the door. Both Alene and Marlene looked at each other and then to the door where four girls came walking in. Lily face immediately brightened when she saw Alene.

"Alene!! WE ARE IN THE SAME DORM!" Lily exclaimed rushing to her side to give her a hug. Alene giggled and said, "We are pretty lucky huh". "Anyways I am Marlene Mckinnon," she said introducing herself. Alene followed after her hyper friend "I am Alene Potter nice to meet you!"

A girl with a short black bob hair cut and small slanted brown eyes introduced herself as Dorcas Meadows. Then another girl introduced herself as Alice Fortescue, she had honey brown hair and eyes with slightly tanned skin. Which Alene assumed was from summer vacation. Lastly, Mary McDonald introduced herself to the girls. She had pretty light brown nearly blond hair with pretty round blue eyes.

As the rest of the girls were still busy with unpacking Alene decided to change her robes to PJs. She took her emerald green nightgown and walked to their shared bathroom and changed. Taking a good look at herself in the mirror she was very happy.

All her roommates seemed to be nice enough. Brushing her hair, it seemed that her father's famed Sleekeazy's Hair Potion was slowly losing its effects on her hair. Although her hair had tamed down immensely compared to James with the constant use of the potion. Still, her hair was very wavy although she liked her natural hair for a special occasion she would style her hair with the potion so that it would fall on her shoulders like silk. Her black hair seemed to make her hazel eyes look even more appealing.

Alene always had a nice bone structure and was often praised about how she inherited her mother's looks. So she always took care of her appearance.

After brushing her teeth she went back to room where all the girls seemed to have finished unpacking and one by one went to get changed in the bathroom. Alene started talking to the new girls in the dorms about how their first day would go and what they were looking forward to the most.

after a long conversation, it was time to tuck under the covers and to have a long sleep.
