The queen lost a lot of face with the shield hero's decision. The other nobles could tell she was reaching for more authority over the shield hero because they have been playing this political game just as long as her, if not longer.
Even if the reason for the dead princess's punishment is valid, I can see the other heroes shaking from the nice view of hell they got for thinking this world is a video game and causing the death of people because they didn't take it seriously. They were basically three fuckups that let their prejudice from their previous world blind them to the reality of the situation.
After the worlds finish separating and the waves end, I will enjoy synthesizing their legendary weapons for my collection in the gate. Probably send them to a less stupid world with more competent people to wield them. Maybe some betrayed people with good hearts?
"Gauntlet hero. I heard from the other heroes that you retrieved the relic used by the church. I am thankful for your help in stopping the church, but I must ask you return the relic to the kingdom.", the queen says trying to get an advantage over me.
"Sure.", I say with a happy smile on my face that causes her to let her guard down for a second. I pull it out of the gate and throw it in a perfect ark that lands right next to her head.
Everyone is shocked by my actions because no-one thought I would openly show my hostility in front of so many important individuals. The shock on shield boy's face eventually changes to confusion and then realization at what I am trying to say and what the queen was trying to pull.
He wasn't happy that the queen tried to pull the same thing she was just chastising her daughter for. He opens his mouth to call her out before Sophia pulls him off to the side and explains that the time to call her out was when she was caught in the act and that has long since passed. He is still angry but keeps quiet.
Before the shock wears off, I speak up still with the ever happy to help smile on my face, "Opps! Sorry there queeny. It looks like my hand slipped. Don't worry though, I'll fix it.".
I extend my hand and it lights up for theatrics and the sword in the wall starts glowing. It's pulled out very suddenly and "accidentally" swings around her head cutting off her hair.
"Oh my! I am so clumsy today. Don't worry though I have just the thing to fix that chrome dome.", I say pulling out a vial from the gate and appearing in front of the queen faster than they can see. I force open her mouth and pour down the contents of the vial as her hair is painfully regrown into an afro style frizz.
"There we go! All fixed. If you need anything else from me though do tell now because I want to explore the town after this.", I say to all the nobles in the room.
"Thank you, hero, but there will be nothing else. You may leave.", she says in a weak voice that just barely reaches my ears. She probably wants to cut her losses and get me away from her which I am happy to oblige.
I make my way into town with my two companions wrapped around each arm. We spend time sight-seeing and enjoying the food before hopping in the gate to rest for the night.
We lay down for the night, but before I can fall asleep, I feel one of my weapons returns. This wouldn't be that big a deal because I get a small trickle of weapons every day from worlds with different time scales, but I take notice of this because my instincts are screaming out in excitement.
I tell my two companions about it and head into the room where they appeared while they start sleeping. I walk in and find two different versions of the same weapon that are giving off incredible energy. Enkidu, the god sealing chains, are in two different colors made of different metals, but giving off energy much stronger than the monstrosity I tricked out of five wishes.
I use magic to play back the history of the two weapons and am very spooked. Each of the chains found themselves with a person that was gifted wishes by a god far more powerful than any I have encountered on this small adventure of mine. I watched as Enkidu was bought from a system when the owners were weak and later ascended beyond the gods that gifted them their systems.
I have not ascended and am still a way away from gaining a basic divinity so the two that bought Enkidu were able to see their purpose for being with them easily. They could have kept Enkidu and I would have had to regenerate a new pair from the gate and couldn't complain in the slightest, but they sent back the chains with a gift.
The first gift was from the one that earned a divinity for creation and destruction. He sent a necklace that has his motif of a winged sword. The necklace is enchanted to hell and back and if used I could get into his massive group of hundreds of gods almost as powerful as him. They would help train me in whatever it is I want to accomplish in the future.
The second gift from a god of chaos and thievery was also a necklace with his motif, a zinogre in gold with blue accents. It acts as a key to enter and leave his kingdom at any time I want. He has the best minds from all over the multiverse in every given field.
I could go to either group and they would teach me any subject I want. Yikes! I caught the attention of some of the most powerful people. Having to go through the hundreds of thousands of years of history my chains experienced was mentally exhausting. I don't want to do anything with this stuff so I will just keep it in the gate and use it later if I feel like it.
Right now, I want to rest and recover my mental energies while cuddling with my most precious companions.
