As the two combatant started to become serious, the spectators were driven to the edge of their seats. They all knew that Evagoras was the stronger one, but surprisingly, they were cheering not for him, but for Nivelet. Being an underdog most often brings the support of the audience, and that made the fight all the more exciting.
Still not using any of his abilities, Nivelet dashed forward Evagoras. But before he could reach him, the sky above Nivelet darkened.
"Thunder Blaze!" Evagoras shouted, summoning a massive thunderous cloud.
A single strand of lighting fell, then like the calm before a storm, not tens, but hundreds of lighting bolts fell from the heavens. The spectators was dazed by the brilliant light show.
On stage, Nivelet had retreated and was currently trying to dodge all the bolts that fell on him. His attention was held by the lighting onslaught, barely noticing Evagoras who was flanking from the side.
Suddenly, a huge shadow loomed over his head, his warrior instincts were screaming at him to duck, but there was not enough time. Whipping his head to the side, he saw the Evagoras winding up his great axe with both hands, preparing to bring down the destruction.
"Imperial Style: Sundering Cleave."
In this desperate situation, not using his ability now would result in his body splitting in half. With a only a second to spare before the axe cleave through his torso, Nivelet used an ability.
"Fey Construct." He whispered under his breath.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Instead of being cleaved in half like the audience expected, something had grabbed the blade of the axe and halted it's momentum.
As the dust cleared, a glowing blue construct was seen. It was then revealed that it was an enormous energy gauntlet that covered the entire length of Nivelet's left arm. The gauntlet was semi-transparent and was around 5 times the size of his arms.
"You finally brought out your abilit-" Evagoras's smirk was cut off as something interrupted him.
"Shut up."
WHAAAAAAAMP!!!
A second gauntlet materialised around his right arm and he delivered a full body punch sending Evagoras flying to the outer edge of the ring. His punch was so powerful that it caused Evagoras to bounce off the shield right back towards him.
Using the momentum, Nivelet hit him with an even harder punch, sending him rocketing towards the sky. This caused Evagoras to cough out some blood, splatting the top side of the shield dome with it.
The unexpected turn of events brought renewed energy into the Colosseum. The roars of enthusiasm shook the entire place.
High above in the Monarch's Chamber, Lyra Krauthemier, The Queen of all Elves, was nodding her head in approval.
"That's a wonderful display, as expected of my son."
'Hue hue hue, enjoy it while it last, soon he'll face despair...' The Emperor thought darkly.
Back on stage, after regaining his sense of balance, Evagoras hovered in mid-air and spit the blood out of his mouth.
"Heh, that tickled."
Imbuing his axe with lighting, he threw it towards Nivelet at terrifying speeds. Trusting his defence, he made an 'X' sign with his gauntlet and braced for the impact.
DUUUUUUUUUUM!!!
The gauntlets managed to stop it but he was knocked a few feet back. The great axe had embedded itself into it and residue lighting seeped through the cracks, giving him a mild shock.
Feeling a sudden intense pain on the back of his neck, Nivelet widened his eyes in surprise. But before he could receive anymore damage, he used his second ability, Fey Step, and disappeared from the world.
Seeing him disappear, Evagoras flew back into the sky and licked the blood off his nails.
"You can disappear, but you can never hide from me, little rabbit," Evagoras had a nasty smile on his face.
He called back his axe and fed some of the leftover blood to it. As the blood gem in the middle of the axe emitted a dim red glow, Evagoras felt stronger and faster, a crazed light appeared in his eyes.
As Nivelet returned back to the world after half a second later, he saw Evagoras back in the sky and it didn't seem like he had any intention of coming back down.
Nivelet knew his limitations and he knew that there was no way he could fight in mid-air. He was a fighter, and some would even call him a genuine fighter. It meant that he fights without the use of spells.
Though he had magics like Earth and Air, he uses it to improve solely on his abilities as a fighter. With Earth magic, he could strengthen his gauntlet to an extreme, or using Air magic, where he could lighten or make his construct extremely heavy.
Nivelet could not fly, but he could still find ways to hurt someone in the air. Using his energy construct, he used his fingers and dug deep into the ground, creating some decent sized boulders. Picking up one and testing its weight, he threw it at Evagoras.
Shifting his body slightly to the side, Evagoras dodged the flying chunk of rock with ease and smirked at him.
"Let's see what you're gonna do against this."
Like a machine gun popping off, Nivelet started tossing the boulders with rapid speed. With the sheer amount of rocks coming at him, Evagoras could not dodge them all, he used the axe to cut down the ones that would hit him.
Suddenly, as he cut down one boulder, another one appeared directly behind it, causing him to not be able to react in time and crash into the ground.
"Now you're making me angry," Evagoras picked himself up from the ground.
Appearing right in front of Nivelet's face, he stared deep into his eyes. His eyes glowed a deep red from using 'Hypnosis'.
"Stop moving."
All the muscles in Nivelet's body suddenly stopped moving as if they were all bound by steel ropes. Being a high elf, he had a certain degree of mind resistance, and he knew sooner or later he would break free from his mind control.
"Little elf, it's my turn to have some fun." Evagoras's hand lit with lighting.
"Lighting Claw."
He coated his hands with lighting and slashed at his face, tearing open wounds left and right.
"Blood Kick."
Using the blood that came from Nivelet, he empowered his foot and kicked his jaws, snapping his head back. This went on for a few minutes before Evagoras decided to stop playing. With the mind control loosening its power, he decided to use one final attack.
"Imperial Style: Splitting Horizons."
This was one of the infamous moves that the 'Scarlet Beast' uses to split his unfortunate foes in half. Blood and lighting swirled around the axe, making the area around it boil with power.
Watching the axe on its inevitable path to his body, Nivelet felt a sense of crisis. This was the first time that he feared for his life.
'fey step... FEY STEP!' Nivelet screamed in his mind with all his might.
The next moment, he disappeared from the spot, escaping from his certain doom.
The place where he used to be had exploded from the power created from the swing. The shockwave so powerful, it created craters on the ground and generated an enormous draft of wind crashing into the spectators.
Nivelet appeared a moment later ten feet away on the ground. He had expended so much energy escaping from the hypnosis, that he was dead-tired.
Giving him no time to rest, Evagoras continued his onslaught. Nivelet could only protect his body, the thought of attacking had long fled his mind. Each swing of the axe sent him flying, his mouth was now filled with blood. Fractures could be seen on the energy construct, it looked like it would not hold on for much longer.
Evagoras' axe had consumed every drop of blood bleeding from Nivelet. The attacks from Evagoras became more and more ferocious and as time went on, Evagoras became stronger while Nivelet was slowly losing his consciousness.
When his constructs finally shattered, a hushed silence befell the colosseum. Everyone collectively held their breath, awaiting his next move.
Nivelet slowly raised his arm to signal his defeat, but before he could do it, a swing of the axe chopped it off.
From the combatant's area, a murderous intent suddenly exploded from Eric's side. Aerin had one foot on the edge preparing to stop the fight, but Eric held her back with one arm.
"Don't be stupid," he warned. "You want to get disqualified? The arm can be reattached if they heal it soon."
Back on stage, Evagoras chucked away the severed hand and raised his great axe.
"You better start moving, or both your legs will be next!" He laughed manically.
"...Igivazp," Nivelet muttered.
"Hmmm? What was that? Well it's too late now. Imperial Style: Sundering Cleave!" Evagoras mocked him.
The axe descended.
"I giv... I GIVE UP!" Nivelet shouted with what little air he had left in his lungs and passed out.
But the axe kept descending...
