Hello There (Part 2)

Classes are still suspended. Investigators continue to roam the school grounds. I've told my parents all of what transpired in school and Max's house. They agreed to let Max stay with us. This is for the better… I guess.

My parents were away and Max is currently in the backyard doing some of his stuff when my phone rang. An unregistered number. Hesitantly, I answered. It's that deep rough voice that I knew from before.

"I told you to… you're not safe with that guy…"

"How do you know that it's him?" I asked Mil, voice restrained while trying to calm my self. Not letting my confusion and anger cloud my rationality.

"It's just… I know you don't believe me but I'm telling you, he's not our brother…"

"I don't believe that you're my brother either."

"Just…" a deep sigh can be heard from the other end,"... just take care. All of you…" then the line ended.

Too many questions left unanswered. Why does that sound like a threat?

---------------------------------------------------

The sun's already up when I came to. Looking beside me, Dim's already gone. As expected to a morning person. I went down to look for him. I've noticed that nobody's in the house except for me. Checking on their wall clock, it's already past noon. Maybe they're out somewhere.

Getting hungry, I went to the kitchen to fetch something. I noticed that the back door is slightly ajar. Without a thought, I closed it and continue to do my meal. After cleaning, I went back upstairs when I heard a slight noise. It's where I came from. Trying not to make a sound, I went back to take a look. Reaching the room, I saw a shadow on the floor.

I slowly walk backward. However, to my horror, I hit a vase. Making it crash to the floor. I immediately run upstairs and locked the door. I called Dim but it only went into voice mail.

"Dim... please answer the phone..." my voice is shaking. I don't know what to do anymore. After a few more rings, he answered but it's too late.

*BANG*

The door bursts open and a hooded man with a wolf mask came in. Being caught off guard, I could only muster a scream before everything turned black.

---------------------------------------------------

I was out buying groceries when I noticed my phone vibrating. It's Max.

"Max?"

 "Dim! Help - AHHHHHHHHH!!!"

"Max! What happened? Hello?" I could hear some noise on the other line. Fear already gripping me.

"Ahhhh... finally..." a distorted voice suddenly spoke.

"Who is this?!" I tried to calm down, but my voice betrayed me.

"You'll know soon..."

"What do you want from me?"

"Go home and you'll see..." After the line ended, I've never run as fast as this my entire life.

---------------------------------------------------

He arrived at their house, breathing heavily. Sweat already soaking his clothes. Barging in, all he could see is a mess. Like a hurricane came and ransacked the whole place. He shouted Max's name several times. No one answered. He checked every room but it's empty.

His phone vibrated. A video message was received by his mailbox. Clicking it, he could only see and hear static noise. Then a distorted voice spoke.

"I want to play a game with you. I have two captives here, but you can only save one. Come and find me or both of them will die. Time is ticking..."

The video ended with an image of two guys kneeling. Sack bags on their heads. He could only scream in frustration and helplessness.

"Dim!"

He looked at the source of the voice. He doesn't know if fate is playing tricks on him.

"I know where they are. Let me help you..." without any other options, he accepts Mil's offer to find Max.
