The Deed (pt. 2)

"So…? Are we being hacked?" My arms were crossed in an attempt to stop my hands from fidgeting, but the restlessness spread down to my legs and I was now pacing in the lounge space of my office. In truth, I didn't know what I wanted Nikolas to find, I just knew that I wanted him to find something, didn't matter what it was. Did I want him to pinpoint the source of the money leak? No. Yes. It was unclear. Now I realised that calling him was a bad idea.

"I can't tell yet. Will you calm down? The click of your heels is driving me crazy," Nikolas huffed from his place in my chair, which made me glare at the side of his head.

"I'm pacing on carpet, you can't hear the click of my heels."
