The Guardianship (pt. 2)

Going to pick up my new ward felt completely unreal. Like, so unreal that I didn't believe it, not even when we were driving back home. I kept looking in the rearview mirror, hoping to catch a glimpse of him. Of course, it didn't work because his seat had him facing away from me. Even holding said carrier as we rode up the elevator to my apartment felt unreal. Closing the door behind me with a baby in the car seat was ever more surreal. It all felt like a dream.
