Yuli and his elf guards were shocked by my words. I already expected that so I quickly followed up.
"I would like to meet the leader of your town because the leader of my village ordered me to deliver a message to him."
They all seem still suspicious but eventually, Yuli agreed. We all journeyed back to the town.
Yuli and the guards accompanied me towards the location of the Chief's Home. It is a huge house but I could not say it is a mansion. Just a huge medieval 2 story house.
The guards except for Bren did not enter. The interior is like a home for an antique loving couple. The floors and walls seem new but the decors seem like collector's items.
Anyways Bren and Yuli left me in the living area while they went into a room nearby. I waited for about five minutes until Bren showed up. He told me that the chief is waiting inside.
I don't know why but as I walked towards the door I am kinda nervous.
Anyways as soon as I opened the door, I saw an elf who looks like he is in his late forties to early fifties. So elves do grow old in this world like humans. Now that I think about it, it seems like lifespans are all the same here. So all those 300-year-old elves in the comics are all fake. Back to the chief, he is sitting on a huge chair and he has a table filled with documents in front of him, like a CEO in a drama. Yuli standing beside him.
"Don't just stand there young human, sit right across me."
"Ahh yes"
I sat on the chair in front of him.
"I sincerely thank you, young man. I was told by our army leader earlier about your heroics. I thank you for saving my fellow elves and my daughter."
"No worries sir. By the way, my name is Wreck Chief."
"Ahh yes, I forgot to say my name. I am Chief Well of the Elf Town of Norman. So I was told that you wish to speak to me about your village, what is it?"
"I would like to speak to you personally, chief but may I ask your daughter to stay outside since my leader does not want me to talk to anyone else about this."
Chief Well seems confused and quite offended but he told Yuli to get out.
"Now that Yuli is gone, what is this important thing you would tell me?"
"My leader told me that we would like to establish a friendly relationship with your town."
I am currently acting as a messenger to the village leader in order for my safety.
He seems surprised but he suddenly smiled.
"So that is what you want to say? Of course, I can! Tell me the name of the village and we will start our negotiations."
"I am not done yet chief, just hear me out. Let me ask you, sir, do you hate other races?"
"No. I see all races as equals."
"Do you like Beastmen, Salamanders, Harpies, and Dwarves?"
His face looks very shocked but he seems like he regained his composure.
"What are you trying to say here, young man?"
He seems like he is getting way too serious so I decided to switch it up.
"Now let us step out of that topic. Let me show you the benefits you would receive if you agree to our deal."
I then grabbed my backpack showed him some of our products in the village. I showed him the wine made out of the purple apple. I also brought the purple apple. I showed him the red iron ore with some finished products such as spoons and fork and knives. He seems like he is focusing on that one.
My research in this town made me realize the most important thing they lack. It is iron. They lack tools. They lack weapons. They lack everyday life items that are related to iron or metal such as those spoons and forks. We have what they need, so I showed it to them to make the chief kinda desperate. I just brought the wine because it may come in handy.
"And let me tell you chief. Our village has a lot of supplies."
"Even iron?"
I knew he was only into the red iron.
"Of course."
"Now tell me what should I offer to you in order to make this trade fair."
"What would my chief needs is cooperation."
"Wh-What?"
"Remember the four races I told you earlier? My leader knows the history of your race, and you elves are hated by the four races."
"So?"
"Our village is filled with those four and they all still hate you elves."
"If your village hates us, then why would your leader like to be friends with us?"
"Our leader is a human, and he would love to end this historical bad blood. He believes that the sin of the father is not inherited by his son. He would also like to establish diplomatic relationships."
"I like that mentality, but what does he want me to do?"
"He would just like you to follow his instructions."
"What would it be?"
"I have yet to receive the order but he will soon send me the message. What he needs right now is your answer."
The chief seems to be on really deep thought. If you think about it in his situation, if the deal works and we end up in peace, his town will get iron but this ends up bad, his reputation as a leader will be ruined. But if he does not accept, nothing will change. On my side, if this goes well, I get allies and new knowledge. If it goes bad, I can create my new enemies and not allies. If I do nothing, I get nothing, and all of my hard work is just a waste. So my situation is kinda bad compared to the chief but I used the bait tactics in order to make him desperate. I also told him some words to add the cherry on top.
"My leader told me that if you the chief will be the one that can end this race feud, you will go down as one of history's greatest leaders."
And it worked.
"Alright. I agree with your proposal!"
Yes!!!!! Now that we have already dealt with the elves. I gotta face my problematic people now.
"By the way Wreck. What is the name of your village?"
"Crimson Village"
"Hahahhahaha!!!! It seems like a coincidence that the name of your village is the same as the terror forest near our town. Where is it located?"
"Crimson Woods."
"WHHHHHAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT!?!?!?!?!!?!"
