Arguments

I quickly headed towards Gaorus through riding Bubba. The trip took about less than 1 hour. It seems like Bubba became faster than before. Anyways as soon as we arrived at the town of the orcs we headed to the town hall where I met Gald.

"Gald, How is the situation?"

"Everything is fine Wreck! No need to worry. Humans from Zione just gave us this letter."

"Have you read it?"

"Yes, But I would like for you to read it by yourself."

I grabbed the letter and read the content. It contains something like a seal from a high ranking guy from Zione. The letter contains words that tell us that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Zione will be heading in our land in the next two to talk about diplomatic relationships.

"So what do you say Wreck?"

"I believe we should talk about that tomorrow. Bubba, Tell your subordinates to tell every leader of every town that they will be summoned tomorrow morning here in Gaorus."

"Yes sir!"

Bubba then headed out to relay the message. Since I still had a little bit of time, I decided to chat with Gald.

"What is your personal opinion about this matter Gald?"

"I believe that we should first meet their leader and judge after."

Woah. I never saw Gald thinking this deep. I always view him as a punch now, think later kind of dude. I guess the fact that a huge kingdom is reaching on us really does scares us a bit.

"What about you Wreck?"

"I think we should talk to them and as much as possible, we should not get on their bad side. We must make them our enemy since we are still starting. We should gain allies first."

Now that you think about it, the humans that arrived in my town almost a year ago was from Zione. I remember the guy named Reid and his squad. Are they going to be sent here tomorrow? Anyways Bubba now has returned and we went back home.

It is now the next day and all of the leaders have gathered here in Gaorus. I started the meeting.

"I know that you all already know the news so I will get to the point, are you willing to accept the Humans from the Kingdom of Zione?"

"I believe that is a no-brainer. As we all know Zione has been a powerhouse for a long time. They have an established name, power, wealth, and number while we are still a month old and has a smaller number. We may be stronger individually compared to humans but their number, resources, and technology make up for it. I say we should establish a friendly relationship with them." Sais said confidently.

"While I do agree that we should accept them, we should first look at the intentions of the humans and then decide our decisions after. If they want to be friends with us then cool, but they have other intentions that may cause harm for our people, I say we should not." Gald replied.

"I agree with the side of mister Minotaur in this one. We should not try to fight the Humans in this one." Chief Well added.

"I believe in the idea of the orc. If they are good then fine but if they show bad intentions I say we kill them." Tran declared.

"Don't say something like that Sir Tran! We are talking about the faith of an entire nation right here. We could be all dead if we do a single wrong move!"

"Then should we just let outsiders with bad intentions in our Union?!"

"It depends on what harm they do. As long as our nation is safe we should act rationally!"

"ENOUGH!!!!"

They all settled down. Good, now I should talk.

"Since you are all divided, we should first emphasize the fact that we all agreed to meet the humans tomorrow right?"

They all nodded.

"Good. Now the disagreement is here. One side wants to be friends with Zione no matter what but the other wants to be friends only if they are good. Since I am the only one left my decision will be our decision."

They continue to be quiet but they are clearly talking through their eyes saying that I should agree with their side.

"I do understand both sides. I know that Gald and Tran want the safety of every citizen in the union to be a priority but I also understand the side of Chief Well and Mayor Sais that we should think about our diplomatic relationship. Now my decision is...."

They all are waiting for my answer.

"My decision is neither."

"WHAAAAAAAAT!!?!?!?"

"I know you are a very clever guy Young Wreck but I don't see any other solution on this one"

"Okay here me out first. If I choose a side then that will guarantee a division here in our union which I do not want so I thought about a new strategy."

"What is then?"

"Why don't we make sure that we are allies with them right from the start?"

I paused and observed their reaction. They are all quiet so I continued.

"Long before I met you guys a group of Humans from Zione came in my place. As we all know the Kingdom of Zione has a long heated rivalry with the Kingdom of Thrile. The humans I mentioned earlier once said to us that they are preparing for war with Thrile. I ordered my harpies to gather information and they told me that there has been no major war between the two kingdoms for the last months."

"So what is your point?"

"My point is that sooner or later they will probably fight. And I decided to use that as our advantage."

"But how? We are right in the middle of them."

"I am saying that we are going to make the Kingdom of Zione want us."

"I still don't understand. How are you going to make them want us?"

"I already told you earlier right? They are going to be at war. We are going to convince them that having an ally to fight against the Kingdom if Thrile is needed."

"That sure is nice. But what if they do not agree with your proposal?"

"Easy. I just need to bluff. I can simply say that the Kingdom of Thrile also told us to ally with them. I am sure that they will be afraid of that idea. We can also threaten them if needed."

"Hahahahahaha!! You never fail to amaze me with your ideas Wreck! Looks like we have a plan!"

"Alright."

"I agree with your idea."

"Make sure your words are convincing Young Wreck!"

Now that everyone is on board time to prepare. Tomorrow is going to be a tough day.
