The Birth of The Chameleon.

It has been almost two weeks since Howler perished. Jack and Mimi had returned back to their houses. Rhys and Ian was also safe, relaxing at a cafe nearby. Alvin was in his room. Researching the key that he took from Howler. "What could this key fit into..?" he wondered. As nightfall gets closer, things were about to get wild. "I should probably get some rest... I've been looking into this key for far too long.." yawned Alvin.

It was the middle of the night when Alvin heard something. He woke up by the sound of something crashing. He grabbed his jacket and left his house too see what made that sound. It was a car crash. Alvin peeked into the car and saw something he wished he did not. The driver just sat there. His face, melted. His skull was visible. But not the rest of his face, it was all gone. One of his eyeball fell out of the skull. In the passenger seat, there was a woman. Her clothes were torn open, big claw marks all over her exposed body. At first, it seemed like the woman was sexually abused. But that was not the case. The woman was clawed to death. "I wish I didn't see that.." said Alvin as he walked away from the scene.

Alvin created a group chat for investigating that night's accident. He added Mimi, Jack, Rhys and Ian into the group.

[Group Chat]

Alvin: "Did you guys read what happened?"

Mimi: "Was it about the car accident?"

Alvin: "Yeah... That one."

Rhys: "What about the accident?"

Ian: "Yeah, it's just an accident anyways."

Jack: "Didn't the driver die in a horrific way?"

Mimi: "Yeah. But they never said how they died though."

Alvin: "Well, the driver's face was melted off. The passenger? Her clothes were ripped. Huge claw marks all over her body."

Jack: "How'd you know...?"

Alvin: "It happened right across the street. I saw everything."

Rhys: "How is that possible?"

Ian: "We've seen a huge looking owl, anything is possible at this point."

Mimi: "But who or what could've done that?"

Alvin: "I'll look further into this. Don't worry."

Rhys: "Stay safe."

Ian: "Yeah. You better be safe."

Alvin: "I speculate that it's Nightmare again."

Jack: "True. It could be him."

Alvin: "Anyways, I'll continue researching the key. Maybe find out what caused the deaths of those two as a side project."

Mimi: "Good luck hun."

Jack: "Yeah, good luck."

Alvin turned off his phone and continued researching. "What could it be...?" he asked himself. He looked over at his clock, it showed "11:30 PM". Alvin sighed. It was already midnight. He walked out his house for some fresh air. "Damn... I've been researching for too many hours. I gotta calm myself down somehow." He walked around the woods, looking for his "Safe Place". At last, he found it. It was Howler's church. Alvin had set up camp there. Revamping the abandoned church and turning it into a hideout. The church looked like it was from the Victorian Era as well. With ambient lights lighting up the walls of the church. One of the walls covered up with newspapers and ripped pages of books. There was also a whiteboard there, written with all sorts of things. Alvin starred at the wall and looked through the content. There were newspapers talking about the incident with Howler. About what happened on the night of the massacre. About the Jacobsons family.

While the pages were about the history of "Hendric Jacobsons". But Alvin and his friends know him by the name of Nightmare. There were also pages about Great Horned Owls. More history about the Jacobsons Family. Pages about the Victorian mansion that Nightmare owns. History about what happened in the past. Speculations about "The Curse of The Jacobsons". It was messy but still readable. Alvin organized the pages and newspapers according to the topic. and stepped back. "Maybe there is some clue here that will lead me to uncovering what this key does.." he said to himself. Something clicked into Alvin's mind. "What if... The key unlocks something in this church..?" he thought.

Alvin sat in the middle of the church, almost falling asleep. Then he heard something. His eyes opened wide, he was not tired anymore. He couldn't be tired now, something's coming. "Something is coming through that front door... I don't have the rifle with me... All I have, is my father's axe." said Alvin. He walked up the stairs. Alvin's axe was hung in front of the church. He grabbed it and faced the door. "As soon as this thing comes in, I'm throwing the axe at it." Alvin said to himself.

The door swung open. What Alvin saw was quite disturbing. It was a half naked humanoid chameleon. It has eyelashes, a long tail. It was wearing knee-high socks with red boots. It had female "parts". Alvin stood there, bedazzled. "W-What are you...?" he asked. The chameleon blew a kiss at Alvin and said: "Hello boy.. My name is Jade, what are you doing here alone..? Why aren't you a pretty boy~"

Alvin stood back. "What kind of unholy creature are you.." he said. Jade jumped at Alvin. "Most boys fall for me when I seduce them~ Why aren't you falling for me..?" she said while licking her lips. Alvin lied: "Oh my~ You're pretty cute..." Jade blushed when Alvin said that and let her guard down. Alvin immediately took advantage of this and stabbed Jade's right leg with a feather that he collected from Howler. Jade groaned in pain and fell down. Alvin looked back at her. "Thanks Howler... I made it out of this one thanks to you.."
