Chapter 25

Tom dribbled down the gym and passed the ball to Steve. He heard Georgia yell that the left was clear so he looked up and saw the gap. He moved into perfect position to get the ball back from Steve and sink the basket. The class spent all its free time in the gym practicing. Georgia still couldn't keep with him or Steve or even Anna on the floor, but boy could she direct the game.

The tournament allowed them to enter both a Grade Three and a Grade Four team. They played against each other and Georgia's mom came in to help them. She spent most of her time with the Thirders, Georgia had the Fours well in hand.

The day of the tournament arrived and they piled into the bus early in the morning. Brenda Cassidy and a couple of the other mothers joined the children. Tom could barely sit still; he was so revved up. He didn't get to Thompson much and he'd never been to a tournament against other schools before.

This was going to be a blast.
