Chapter Twenty-Six

"He suckered us," Colonel Stone said when Banning made his report. "I should have known it was too easy. I trained Rivers and I forgot my own training. We won't make that mistake again." He played with the pen on his desk. Banning didn't know what it was with that pen. Stone had it since before they met and where ever they deployed he brought it with him.

"I want a full team to go to the mine site tomorrow, put it together, then get some rest. I want you back there with a full team for security. We need analysis of the explosive used. Bring back anything they left behind. We know they were there, let's see what we can learn from the site."

"Yes, sir," Banning saluted and walked to his own field office where he called in the Sergeants.
