Chapter 32: Trap, Part 1

Trey had a pattern now, but no way to use it. Without a name they couldn't find the person and question him about selling the children. Likely he wasn't selling them directly to Councilor Molloy, but to the person who disposed of the bodies. They needed a way into the pattern to connect Molloy to the children who were found raped and strangled in corners of the city. Even the police were careful to stay away.

Lizzy continued making him an accessory to her personal hunt. After he had decided not to mention the first outing, it became impossible for him to tell the others. She must have been accessing the Underground's investigations on pedophiles, since she knew exactly where to go and what kind of look she needed.

Trey watched the child-like killer destroy the men who took her to be a helpless innocent. He didn't feel any sympathy for the men, but he was getting concerned she was acting outside of the controls of the team.

"Lizzy, you can't keep doing this," he said once.
