Chapter 31: Looking for a Ghost, Part 3

The next day the glare from Lizzy had a different edge to it. Of course she knew he was there, she was always the best at the training games. She'd wanted him to see what he had seen.

He had finally solidified the pattern. Someone was just a little careless, and yet had never been caught. It suggested to Trey this person knew he was under protection. He still couldn't identify who it was. Unfortunately, the police reports Red managed to access were masterpieces of generalization. The police knew something was wrong and they couldn't do anything about it.

Lizzy came looking for him the next morning wearing shorts and a tee shirt.

"Come," she said and walked away. Trey followed her through the maze of the underground to another door. She led them out into the sun and onto a bus. They were halfway across the city when she left the bus and began skipping down the sidewalk. Trey walked behind trying to act as if he didn't know her. They ended up at another park.
