When age rules the country, it’s hard to be young.

Trey runs away from the youth reserve, sure he’s no more than spare parts for a father he barely remembers. The Council of Elders has its own questions about the him. When Trey find the Underground and joins the fight to give rights back to the Youngers, he starts a chain of events beyond anyone’s control.

Generation Gap

Trey wanted to ask her to explain, but his brain, which lined facts and patterns up so neatly, failed to suggest anything to say.


They found a table in the square and Red grabbed a tray. 


Trey enjoyed their meal together. Red was close to the impish girl he had first met. She had him in stitches with stories of the team's exploits and disasters. Trey went back to his room feeling better, much better. He lay down on his bunk and let the evening play through his mind. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.
